Re: Outdoor test - 6 T30's and 2 OT12's

So this test had 2 primary objectives; 1) temperature monitoring of the 3012LF magnets during heavy use and 2) the most efficient setup of a stack of 6 T30's possible. We got lucky with the weather and managed to dodge any rain, despite some threatening looking clouds around. We had 2 options for se...

Outdoor test - 6 T30's and 2 OT12's

With the weather on the improve over here in Perth, it's time to bring the gear out of hibernation from winter! Tomorrow we'll be setting up our system on a private oval for an rc meet-up to test its outdoor capabilities. I plan to V-plate the stack of T30's to help them out. Fingers crossed the wea...

Re: Tuba 30 x2 Build

Hey mate, well done on the fix and finishing the subs! I haven't been on here in a little while, good to see you enjoying those T30's :) :hyper:

Make sure you post up pics/reviews of the complete system when you do your big festival gig with your powers combined ;)

Re: Tuba 30 x2 Build

What's your method for installing the panels in regards to fastening? I would recommend a Brad nailer if you can (Ie if you have a compressor). It's quick, and you can tack one brad on one end of the panel, tack the other end and then check for squareness before you run brads along each edge. That w...

Re: Tuba 30 x2 Build

Hmm. Well, you could just live with it, panel 8 is the top, so it would be visibly out of square. PL would probably still fill the gap between the 2nd side and panel 8. If it was me, I would cut panel 8 off the cab with a circ saw, sand down the mating edges back to normal and start again with a new...

Nice looking amp. Where did you get it from and how much did you pay for it if you don't mind my asking?

Yeah we also gave up the early drilling out of the 2nd side because the lines were never matching up at the end..

Re: To both DJs and SE: How much distance you position yourself from your booth to your speakers? Share your experience

Casual/hobbyist DJ. Always behind the subs and mains, with monitoring. I'm a pretty small scale setup in the scheme of things so I'm only a meter or so behind the subs, with the mains spread about 5m each to the left and right. I find the T30's to be quite directional in that there is less than half...

+1 to handles. Except make them between 7/8 and 8/10 ;)

Coming together nicely. Shame about your little boo boo but now it's problem solving time!

You can edit your photo's in Microsoft Paint (and many other photo editors) and resize them by a percentage until they're under 200kB, then you can upload 'em..

I'd thought about this also when I built my otops, and sealed them with PL anyways. I figured since they're high power cabs, you want all the strength and rigidity you can get... not sealing the top hats could also be a potential rattle zone.

Re: Unlinking 1 output channel on the DCX

Ok. After some playing around I found the "copy" function under the "setup" button on the dcx, which allows me to do pretty much what linking the outs was doing. So, I can now run unlinked and agree with you Grant, that this is much more versatile. So that's problem solved! I can...

Re: Unlinking 1 output channel on the DCX

There may be something I'm missing here, but here's my take. Your not running bi amp, but set up example on page 23 would work for you. They show Link out as ON, but I'm not sure that would work for you. Even though it would take a little longer to set up, it wouldn't be the end. They do say that i...

Unlinking 1 output channel on the DCX

Hey guys, So I want to use one of my old 3 way boxes as a booth monitor. Unfortunately it needs a lot of EQ before its flat sounding, so it would be nice to be able to use the DCX to do this. My current setup (stereo) uses the LHLHLH configuration with the sum of A+B routed to outputs 1, 3 and 5 for...
