Re: OT12 Build

Oh, man. I'm living and working in Saudi Arabia right now, but before I moved out here, I was living in San Marcos. My folks are right over in Spring Branch. If I was back home I'd've come out and added to the appreciation for you guys. Nice set up, man. And beautiful day. I miss driving down the B...

Re: OTop 12 Build (Hit Major Snag)

Your problem is the jumper that runs from the front bank (looking at the picture) to the rear bank. The jumper is going from positive to positive - it should go from the last negative on the front bank to the to positive on the back bank. You aren't completing the connection. You essentially have th...

Re: OT12 Build

They are officially in action. Played a gig at a country club tonight. That's the driving range behind us. Stacked up two OT12s on each side and the subs are on the right side of the picture, V-plated behind the bass player....heeheehee....wasn't complaining about not hearing bass....in fact he was ...

Re: Speakon Wiring

I just received my Speakon NL4MP jacks which came with crimp-on spade terminals. I prefer to solder the speaker wires to the jacks, but the holes in the Speakon lugs are very tiny. Do folks usually drill these holes out, or am I missing something? Thanks! Don't put the wires in the holes. Just sold...

Not keen on the waste one.

Re: My favourite American Expressions/phrases

I'll start it off for us limeys: cooties = nits sodering = soldering (is this correct?) Pantywaist = wuss. I'm trying to get this one into common UK use. This is a great word. Yes, soldering is correct .....sodering is not a word, some people just have a little problem with spelling..... The proper...

Re: OT12 Build

Oh grasshopper....what is this mysterious foam of which you speak? Air conditioner filter foam? Hmmmm... haven't heard of that. Enough open air space, I take it? Is this a Home Depot kind of thing? Yeah, any hardware store will have them. They are only like 3/8" or 1/4" thick and come som...

I also have volunteers.....My thinking is that if someone screws something up, we can always do a "recall" and put it back where it belongs. Plus, I really like the idea of all the functions available on every channel.

Re: Studio Live 16.4.2

I bought a SL a couple months ago. After getting some gigs on it I have to say the thing is awesome. We now record all out gigs. If any of you guys doing live sound are looking for a new mixer, take a serious look at these. I store scenes for the "regular" venues that we play. The next up...

Re: OT12 Build

Thanks. I would really like to put the foam behind the screens.......guess I should have bought that when I got the grills. Just couldn't see $35 for a piece of foam.....of course, after all I've spent to build these things, it shouldn't have mattered. A piece of air conditioner filter foam should ...

They are up and running. Here's old and new...... OT12 Build 064 small.JPG Stacked with the chevron corners.....pretty secure. This is how they'll stack up Friday night when we try 'em in public for the first time. Excited to see how adding the two extra cabs will sound. OT12 Build 063 small.JPG

Re: OT12 Build

Wired, tested and working! No problems that I could hear. Compared with the NSD2005 boxes - not a huge difference. I had to pull a little 1k to clean 'em up a little sitting in the garage.
