Re: Otops restarted
A little more progress with some pictures. Been working on a surprise for the CD horns. Hope to be able to post some pictures of that tomorrow. Also making a slight alteration to the front of the baffle when mounting the phase plugs. I have to complete the horns before I can implement it though. It ...

Re: Blue Encore 100
I already have them.
I bought all 4 12's, cd's, and adapters for $200 still sealed in the boxes. Really couldn't turn it down.
I do plan on testing some Dayton 250T's I have available but want to build to spec first.
Do you find the ASD's lacking?

Re: Blue Encore 100
Good to hear the compliments on your system Bruce. Really good considering the fact I am building 6 T39's (lab loaded) to pair with my 4 otops as soon as they are done. I am beta/asd loaded in the tops though so a little different than yours. I'm doing a festival all this coming week but hope to but...

Re: Blue Encore 100
Nothing scientific about my post either Everybody will have opinions about which mic is better. It's all relative to the environment, how you run your system, how the person uses the mic, what the voice sounds like, and personnel taste. I've tried a few different budget mics in the paste but other t...

Re: Blue Encore 100
We are playing a two night show this weekend where I started playing around with the Blue mics. Last night I did some testing with the vocal mics. We had set up and I had a regular 58 on our drummer (He does a lot of the singing). We did a straight A/B switch. The first thing I noticed was a slight ...

I said that? I'm more brilliant than I thought...BrentEvans wrote:Grant Bunter wrote:C
The best comment was from Brent Evans, who said they out 58 a 58!
That was in my thread about Blue Encores Mr Evans.

Re: Otops restarted
Thanks Leland It looks like I will be using crossovers in these instead of biamping as I had originally planned. We are trying to reduce weight in our amp rack and have been buying up all class D's (already changed out the entire monitor rack). Seems silly to buy extra amps and add weight when a cor...

Otops restarted
So after haunting the sight for awhile I have finally finished all the remodeling on the house. That means I can get back to building the Otops I bought parts for over a year ago. I cut everything and preassembled four units before having to go do a show today. Nothing glued yet just test fitting of...

Re: Blue Encore 100
Well I ordered 2 vocal mikes and 2 instrument mikes. I will follow up after using them a bit and let you know what I think.

Re: Blue Encore 100
I don't have to deal with riders at this point. Not for the mics anyway. So this is strictly a me decision on what I go forward with. All my 58's still work they just are VERY old. I know some people just repaint them and throw a new ball on top but at some point you have to start questioning them. ...

Blue Encore 100
So does anyone have opinions on the blue encore 100. Seems most reviews rate these mikes on par or better than the sm58. I am a die hard sm58 user and have been for years. But the current buy one get one free promotion that blue is running on these has teased my interest. I just wondered if anyone h...

MF stupid deal of the day
Just a heads up. Musicians Friend has crown xls100's for $149 today as the stupid deal of the day.
Roughly a third off the regular discount market price.

Re: Frazier X-15 Info
If these are what I'm remembering the only place I have ever seen them used is in movie theaters. OLD movie theaters.
Anyway, google a guy named Todd Crane from SC. He visits a lot of forums and used to work for Frazier years back. There is also a facebook page dedicated to these speakers.

Re: Standard rate for soundman/PA?
I will be doing a festival in my hometown at the end of august. It is simple playback for most things and sound for three to four bands. It is less than 15 minutes from my house and only evenings for four nights. I am only charging $800 for the sound and the band I normally run sound for is entertai...

Re: Worth a read... speaker falls on 10 year old
The schools liability was always there. The decision to not call an ambulance puts them at risk for negligent after the fact. This is a whole lot more serious issue. I have to ask myself why the area of the gym that held the equipment wasn't being supervised while kids where present. I NEVER leave s...
