Re: Low power spl bass setup in truck

I appreciate your candour there ACUA. We all compete - it's a difficult one to crack. Kudos to you.

Re: 4 Point Club System

Not normal or recommended, but T39's and T60's have been done together: https://billfitzmaurice.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=20697&hilit=Wall+bass As much as anything, it's the review info and data included in such threads that informs the potential users of the decisions that need chewing over. ...

Re: Hello from Coventry, UK

Hi there Glenn, Welcome. I started out building J12L's, for bass guitar and general PA. I didn't particularly run them with the bass cranked, but felt like I wanted more bass, and when that happens subs are the way. I heard that the experienced DJ's tend to run bass about (of the order of) 10dB high...

Re: 4 Point Club System

The OP only has T39's, and the job is a rental. ...ppl on the thread have covered all angles to do with how many stacks and where, delays, sound absorption and everything associated with installation, ...but it's a rental. Now, it's all down to the dynamics / appetite of the relationship between the...

Re: 4 Point Club System

The OP needs to build relationship with this client IMO. There's a common saying in sales, that the customer is always right. Well, as an engineer I would add, "except when they're wrong". It's critical that knowledge and objectivity is permitted to enter the arena. A salesman will sell a shit house...

Re: Recomended 8" for DR200

Ok. Is there an SPL chart for the LA8-CNMB in the DR200?

I'd be interested to know where the non-linearity for the 'cab transfer function' comes into it, though I can appreciate variability within the permissible variations in T&S parameters will affect matters. They probably require modelling.

Re: Recomended 8" for DR200

You just pick the dB value off the driver sensitivity curve at the major grid lines on the chart, then add the cab effect, then calculate the middle of the dB range (between the lowest and highest dB number). The PRV is 3.7dB down over the Delta Pro 8, but it has quite a notch between 600 and 700 wh...

Re: Recomended 8" for DR200

Oops, couldn't help myself. I've done a few numbers to appraise an alternative driver. I am contemplating DR200's to replace using J12L's as tops on larger setups. The table is an analysis of where the median (middle) value of cab sensitivity would be between the range of 100Hz and 2kHz, if using al...

Re: Recomended 8" for DR200

I’d forgotten about the Fane sovereign 8-225, what I put in the W8’s – at £45 a piece in UK. It is just more flat than the eminence. My feeling is that mapping out the transfer function of a cabinet, and superposing other drivers becomes moot when it’s perhaps 3 or 4 dB in a smallish part of the who...

Re: Recomended 8" for DR200

This s their reply: "Hi Seth, You can order as few as one piece through our custom shop for $141.25 + shipping." That's the same answer I got when I asked yesterday, 😀. It wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't VAT on top when importing to UK, and the issue is that there's no point just building 2 - it...

Have had 'Joey Landreth - Hindsight' album on repeat in the car. Not a long album, but 6 or so very good tracks on there.
