Leland's AutoTuba and how the 'Deathbox compares'
I fired up the autotuba for the first time. It had just been setting around waiting for the car to get fixed. I hooked it up to the bash 300w amp, corner loaded it and got rocked. I expected good, but not this good. I'm really amazed at this box. I can see why some guys are using them for ba...

Perfect Cutouts
This technique works for the larger cutouts such as in the Titan access panels. You need a table saw sled. Mark your cutout, extend the lines to the end of the board. Crank your blade all the way up. Lay the board to be cut on the sled next to the blade. Slide it forward/back until the cut farthest ...

Complete PA
I've been here a while and thought I should post a complete BFM PA review. I'm one of the few who hang here that have everything built from Bill for live sound. There's more folks who don't post much. 4 DR 250's, beta 10 loaded (old school), 16 piezo arrays. 4 t24's HL10c loaded. 4 Wedgehorns LA6MB ...

can I really drive them to the 400W rating of the speaker Yes you can. At 15 volts into 8 Ohms thats 37 watts. At 400 watts you will be approximately 10db louder. Twice as loud. Probably too loud. The cabs are that good. Their sensitvity makes huge amps unecessary. Cheaper to build boxes than buy 2...

From left to right on the bottom scale is the frequency. The vertical axis is the volume, measured in db. The more the merrier. You find your desired freqency, go up until you hit the measured line, read across to the the db vertical axis and that's the volume at that spot. The flatter the line over...

Understanding Amplifiers and Speaker Power ratings
Amplifier power and it's relationship to volume is commonly misunderstood. The relationship between between output and power is not complex, but it is a logarithmic scale not linear . For example in a Tuba 24 HL10c loaded: 1 watt at 1 meter spl: 102db. 10watts at 1 meter spl: 112db. 10 times the pow...
