Re: Roundover tearout repair ?

If you're using duratex for your final coat, when you sand don't sand the bondo past 80g. Prime the bondo with a cheap black primer. I really like rustoleum 2x primer. If the bondo is too smooth, as it sands differently than the ply, it will show through the final finish as different texture. Also o...

Re: dumb tuba assembly question

I'll clamp it in as many places as I can reach with a clamp. I also use screws short enough that they don't pierce though. I still fill the holes just to be sure. It does not take many to hold it, 3 or 4 at most. Even BB will come with a twist in some panels, and the jig keeps it all nice and square...

Re: dumb tuba assembly question

I use one for panel one installation. especially if it's a wide cab. I leave in it place while I install 2. Just be sure to fill the screw holes when you pull it.

Re: Portable/pop up canopy search!!

Ezup survived about 10 yrs in my rental store. That's letting amateurs put it up and take it down all the time. I think we replaced the canopy once.

I'm Baaack

Hello, I'm Leland Crooks. I've been absentee for a very long time. I looked in occasionally, but life just intrudes, a lot. I'm going to make a serious effort to get back in the groove on the forum. Biggest problem is you old timers answer all the questions now. 8)

Re: Building 2- 12 inch tht to compliment my 15 inch thtlp

If you're going to stain, only use General Finishes gel. I use the water bourne. It eliminates the blotching you can get from birch, and is highly controllable as to color. I've tried them all. For a natural finish, the danish oil looks really good, but I though it was a bunch of work. The wiping po...

Re: My new BFF

My first cut was a simple baffle cutout. Cleaner cut than I can do with my jasper jig. The festool spindle motor is damn impressive. Better than a cnc table for me at least. Unless you have a 5 axis you still have to cut all the angles on the table saw. What I'm really looking forward to are perfect...
