Re: Excessive ads on the mobile site (this post contains large images)

I’ll track anything that comes up. As to a better way, The concept of sponsorship seems to fit pretty well... there is a very specific demographic of customer that visits this site. I’m obviously not sure what you need to take to keep it running, or what the traffic is, but you would seem to have se...

Re: Excessive ads on the mobile site (this post contains large images)

Yeah, there’s no reason that should be showing for me, except that I normally disable most of that tracking. Those have only been showing up in the last few days, and it is ONLY here. I get plenty of Adsense ads elsewhere and nothing like that ever shows up. Here’s the deal... this is a problem. You...

Re: Excessive ads on the mobile site (this post contains large images)

Just FYI.. the ads are back with a vengeance. You can no longer disable them in mobile browsers and the content of many the ads (dating and sex hookup sites) is highly inappropriate. No matter how many times you close them and go through the steps to tell Adsense they got it wrong, the inappropriate...

Re: BehringerMods (AudioSmile) DCX output upgrade report

My experience with the DCX has been that, when only used for crossover duty with moderate slopes (24db or less) they generally sound OK on entry level Systems. Load up the DSP more than that or get a better system and the flaws begin to show when compared to even something like the VENU360 or Ashly...

Re: No posts in HT setup..can anyone help?

You allowed a whole three minutes for someone to help you. Not a great first impression. If you want to use Bill’s designs for HT, the standard setup is the THT sub, TLAH for front LR, SLA curved for center, and the little wedgie thing for surrounds. Kits are available at www.speakerhardware.com. Al...

They smell the same to me, and i’ve Heard similar observations as yours from both former smokers, and as mine from non-smokers. Wonder what the psychology is behind that?

Re: Getting pub smoke out of gear.

I have to wonder how much of the desensitization is part of the addiction. We came up against that head-on last week. We took the kids to a park to enjoy the nice afternoon, and another family was there... no big deal, obviously, until several of them lit up Inside the playground area. The whole par...

Re: BehringerMods (AudioSmile) DCX output upgrade report

You haven't even begun to hear sound quality until you've heard my $4995 cryogenic speaker cables! I've owned 2 DCX2496's for about 11 years now and they are as clean as any other device out there. A bit of a noise floor until you ground the chassis to everything else and then invisible. Whatever y...

Re: Excessive ads on the mobile site (this post contains large images)

It's not an app, it's what shows up in the mobile browser. Adblock isn't available on mobile browsers unless you use their specific browser app (which isn't very good). Ads themselves don't bother me, but high-bandwidth ads that target mobile users who pay for bandwidth (i.e. not unlimited) is simpl...

Excessive ads on the mobile site (this post contains large images)

This is a new "feature" as of today. There are excessive ads appearing on all pages of the mobile version of the forum. I don't mind a banner ad or two, that's not a big deal. I'll sometimes even click through if it's relevant. I am assuming this is a glitch, because the ads are appearing in the mid...

Re: THT and Tall Boy THT Ground Plane 2v/1m measurements

On this side of the pond I've never seen the term 'joiner'. Here we typically call someone with a basic skill set a carpenter, one with a higher skill set a cabinet maker. However, the cabinets in question would be kitchen cabinets, not speakers. Higher up the food chain would be furniture makers. ...

Re: Horn in the bass mouth.

More specifically, the Jack designs use a wooden horn that you build. All Jack plans specify either an array of piezo tweeters, or a compression driver on the custom horn. Make no assumptions about how these designs perform based on what you already know. Everything is designed to work together and ...

Re: Stacking option, will they couple, and more Q's

Bill, wouldn’t the placement of the top arrangement put the output of the cabinets at a 90 degree phase angle and be a bit less efficient?
