Re: Omni 12 Full range vs Jack 12

Omni probably sounds better and maybe louder for one or two cabs per side. Jack is smaller, but it offers the benefit of being vertically arrayable for pattern control and system expansion.

Plywood

So, we’re finally getting the house back together and bought flooring from Home Depot. Nice stuff. It came on 2 pallets, and had a half sheet of what looked like decent,if cheap, plywood on the top and bottom of each pallet. Scuffed edges, veneered, but no visible knots and it had some potential for...

Not to mention it has two amps on board, making a biamped cab possible.

Re: Do voltage limits change with cabinet design?

when they break up, it’s so nasty no one in their right mind would keep going. My assumption is that the responsible culprits are teenagers, which explains that. :noob: Well... I hooked them up to my IPR7500 sub amps once to see how much they could take... they took it all until I was hard into the...

Re: Do voltage limits change with cabinet design?

Yeah, that's pretty funny right there Brent (but expensive!) I do like my little portable rechargeable-battery Bose bluetooth speaker though. It comes in handy. The sound isolating headphones are also nice for drowning people out (and for checking rough audio levels coming from streaming services i...

Re: Do voltage limits change with cabinet design?

Unless you're the one operating them limiting will do you no good, the people using them will find a way to change it. Never loan or rent out anything you won't mind getting back broken. Or, they’ll keep turning everything up that makes it “louder” and run the whole thing into clip for so long it b...

I sent it to the guy that builds my speakers and is currently building my kitchen cabinets. He said he was going to frame it.

Re: Lab 12 recone kits

Interesting. Thanks for the explanation CO. I didn't know there was such a thing as an RMS Limiter and must have mixed the two up somewhere along the line. Now I'm wanting to see the waveform of a limited signal on an oscilloscope. Why would they not just have it work the same as a compressor w/o m...

Re: Lab 12 recone kits

When these idiots start redlining gear (which includes playing hard into the limiter so it's always limiting), they start driving the power curve up so you end up getting more power per volt. I thought limiters left the signal intact. Like compression, attenuates signal peaks. No? Normally not. Com...

Re: Lab 12 recone kits

EDM DJ's never have enough. I since wired them series so that even if they disable the limiters: A: only 1 would blow instead of both at once as that would open up the circuit (they are dual loaded cabs). B: the amplifier only puts out 97 volts so each driver is only seeing around 48.5 volts - with...

Re: T60 Limit

All I said to do was test your assumptions and assertions. Apparently your intelligence is simply easy to insult. A good scientist asks a question that assumes nothing. then finds a way to answer that question without bias. This question is a matter of science, not opinion. If you want evidence, the...

Not making any assumptions. I hear what I hear. You couldn't convince me the dog I'm looking at is a cat just because you're a veterinarian. Cheers. Respectfully, you are indeed making assumptions. You are assuming that you have heard true content in these frequency ranges, and that you know what i...

Re: Dayton driver for OTop?

They look like a competitor to the delta pro12-450a more than the beta. While they don’t have the rising response, sensitivity below 1k is in the ballpark, and they have more power handling and comparable Xmax. Other specs are not identical, but that would be a function of cab design. In a purpose d...

This company is local to me, have been using their stuff for years with no problems. https://www.firefold.com/home-theater/...
