Re: In Ear monitor systems
We use a variety of mixers these days. Also more and more production provided gigs. I would like to set up something that is sort of plug and play with whatever situation we encounter. My personal is the Mackie DL1608, seldom used now. I pull it out on occasion if I'm doing a fill in or whatever if ...

Re: In Ear monitor systems
Any thoughts on an all in one small processor that would provide eq and limiting to feed the transmitter? Thinking of a mini DSP kind of thing. Would need to be compatible with line in from PA board and out to the transmitter. The simpler the better.

Re: In Ear monitor systems
Yes the buds are critical to the sound. I made my own custom ear moulds with Radians diy ear plug. I was looking at the Behringer units. Though it would be a no brainer for the drummer and keyboard player. Problem is convincing these old dogs (my self included in that category) that they should try ...

In Ear monitor systems
Hello All I had the most rewarding experience at fun performance day running my in ears. I split all the mics and sent them to my Mackie DL1608 so I had 6 monitor sends. I have pretty significant hearing loss so I was compensating for this. Limiting , eq and individual balance. I can say I seldom ha...

iPad controlled mixing in the out door sunlight.
Hello All I use a Mackie Dl1608 when I do the occasional gig these day, so many events we do are production provided. The biggest draw back for me is trying to view the iPad out in direct sunlight. Plus the heat factor has shut my pad down a few times. Any great ideas for a solution for this. I have...

Re: Jack 10 Lite
Holly cow, almost a year and no progress. Well I have striped a room back to brick, insulated, rewired, plumbed for new main floor bathroom, laundry room, heating ducks, turned 70!!! and gearing up for summer gigs.
Hope to be back at it as soon as the Honey Do list lets up a bit.

Re: Old Man with Hearing Issues
This is a band I play with once in a while so not my gear. They have a powered Yorkville 20 some channels. So 2 monitors and 1 effects sends. I don't have access to the board easily. I have a Mackie Dl1608 so I have full 16 in, 6 aux out, all with comp, noise gate, 2 effects, eq is HI and Low pass a...

Re: Old Man with Hearing Issues
Update on the weekend wedding gig. I set up my in ears with vocals, my bass, and a little of the band. It was night and day. Haven't enjoyed performing as much in a long time. Set up an approximate eq listening to music that I know. A limiter to keep from overdriving the transmitter. Fooled around w...

Re: Old Man with Hearing Issues
Been working with a new audiologist to try and iron out the issues. Mine has 4 programs that can be set up for different needs. One is for music but it needs to be tweaked for my ears. You know how hard it is to describe to a none musician what you are hearing . I need to sit down with known music a...

Old Man with Hearing Issues
Well that's me. After years listening to loud rock and roll. Spending most of my life on a farm with tractors purring away for 16 hour days, chain saws and all the other toys farmers get to play with, my hearing sucks. Have had hearing aids for several years now. They are great, I can communicate wi...
