Re: Time alighmnet
Do you know up to how much time delay / distance you won't notice delay below 100Hz? Because at i.e. 1s/1000ms (340m/ 1000feet) I sure do. I guess we should all be sure then not to place our mains and subs 1000 feet apart.  I noticed that 'allready'..... pretty interesting article: http...

Re: Good article on SPL
This is a great one http://sound.whsites.net/articles/pa.htm " Let's look at a simple example . Two systems are set up side-by-side. One has an overall sensitivity of 100dB/W/m, meaning that an input of 1W will give an SPL (sound pressure level) of 100dB at 1 metre distance. Power rating is 100...

Re: Time alighmnet
You can't hear it because your hearing isn't that acute below 100Hz. If the crossover to the subs was at 500Hz it would be very obvious. Back in 1936 almost every theater in America had to toss their speakers because they did crossover at 500Hz and weren't time aligned, replacing them with the Shea...

... As for the wiping out of civilization, there was no civilization to wipe out. Human population then was between 1 and 10 million worldwide, comprised mainly of hunter-gatherers. There were some agricultural communities, but they were rare, and would have been located near rivers, not seas. Yes,...

Re: New iphone
Nothing is new; we have always been stupid, if we we're only so wise to take that as a starting point, instead all the egodriven crap out there. I'm still curious what the cause was for the flood or sea level rising, aprox 12000 years ago which whiped out most of civilization back then; we could lea...

Re: New iphone
Proof positive that God loves the stupid even more then he does the poor, as he creates many more of them. Sad but true. Massive scale EMP generation as described by conspiracy nuts is as fictional as a transporter beam..... Sure about that? It won't be the Russian's, but in 2003 'our' Sun took a s...

Re: Very nice and cheap Speakon Connectors and Sockets
What knock off connector?
What happened and would it not have failed with a 'real' one?
99% of cable/connector error's I have seen are caused by ab-use or plain stupidity.
Having all your tops connected with one connector does not sound wise to me.......

Re: Getting pub smoke out of gear.
. //edit: spreading around used coffee grounds can also nutralize smells. (maybe fresh coffee also works, I don't know).... That would be replacing one offensive smell with another. ...... I think you need to use used grouds, you can spread them out so they dry. They have hardly any smell left, but...

Re: Getting pub smoke out of gear.
Glad that you got rid of most of the smell. Is there brown residu of smoking on the grills? Degrease them, window cleaner (glassex it's called here) might do. For all heavier degreasing, I use http://www.dastyitaly.it/immagini/grande_3_sgrassatoreericarica.jpg As it is very gentle for the aplied sur...

Re: Champion Sound for Columbus Ohio
Then you alleady did your comparison allmost as good as it gets. Maybe you can find a flac file or CD of the song which might me better. The highpass filter is essential for all ported (bass reflex) and horn subs and maybe others, if you want to use them at more then 1/4 (to be safe) of full power. ...

... The question I'm asking myself is what it will it cost for a decent crossover + limiter + eq vs driverack. More and you won't have RTA or the usability of the DBX PA2; setting it up by pc or tablet is great and MUCH easier and makes your settings visual. The day I decided I wanted to have the P...
