Re: Differing Phase - Blown Drivers

I assume the "stack the kick bins on top of the subs" is not best practice? :D (Should I open another thread?) But as we have a Soundsystem currently consisting of 4 * q15" scoops , kicks, mids/highs we thaught that we could improve the low-end by using the two t60s. At least until we...

Re: Differing Phase - Blown Drivers

because we use the other ones together with the two t60s until we have four of them.

Edit: and it's easier to get the rest of our system stacked like this

Re: Differing Phase - Blown Drivers

Thank you ! I was wondering if there is any physical effect I don't know of, that's could do harm if speakers are not on phase, haha! Yeah...Same pass band, but that makes sense. As our Horns won't be playing much lower than 45Hz, Id simply use the two t60s we built for 45-30 ...Or maybe cut the oth...

Re: Differing Phase - Blown Drivers

Thank you both ! Was referring on this part of the Placement guide : "Using Tubas with other subs: Mixing horn subs with direct radiators is a recipe for disaster. The response of the two formats is so different that it's impossible to EQ either one of them properly, while differing phase can e...

Differing Phase - Blown Drivers

Hi everyone!

Just read bills Placement Guide again and was wondering in which case a differing phase between subs will lead to a blown driver ? (Feeling too quiet thru cancellation and then feeding more power ?)

Re: Problem with DEQ2496

Had a similar failure with an other device.
Could be a faulty capacitor.

If there is no Warranty on it, open it and check for "Blown up" Capacitors

Normally a cap should have a flat top, not a rounded "Blown up" one.

Re: A cheap DSP for your Active speaker Projects

So today my FreeUsbi came and i had to try that thing out! The FreeUSBi is a progammer for the Sure DSP (originally planned for the FreeDsp - Which is an alternative. You can build this one for yourself (check http://www.freedsp.cc/) and it´s a few bucks. If you have basic skills in soldering it sho...

Re: A cheap DSP for your Active speaker Projects

For programming you could use a so called freeusbi and the parts of it cost like 5$! With a little soldering and figuring out this and that. You can definitely use it for HT , but you are limited to two inputs / 4 outputs with the sure one. Will give some details about its power as soon as I got it ...

Re: A guy from the Sublime Soundsystem

I personally like the sound of some Soundsystems alot. It depends on the style of music that is being played. not a fan of the "lots of bullet tweeters" thing, but they sometimes can add a little brilliance from like 10 or 7 khz in. Really a thing of liking. I like the "warm" (I ...

Re: Sealing air leaks inside the cabinet after closing

Thank you guys! Okay, in case I need to cut some access holes, I keep the cutout , fix the leak, glue the panel back on and use something (glue and sawdust?) To fill the cut lines. Preparation is definitely worth alot more than fixing problems later (and easier) ...But I think some people are damned...
