Re: Low power spl bass setup in truck

All in all the build was fun, sounded great and I don’t know how I could have made the system any louder on a tight budget using the existing 700 watt amp I had while still maintaining some level of sound quality. Car audio draws a certain crowd and certain interests who am I to criticize their pass...

Re: Low power spl bass setup in truck

I used to be so fascinated by Loud low frequency sounds that created a vortex of moving air around me to the beat of music. Years ago it was my life. Once upon a time a 40hz tone could Stimulate my senses and make me happy. Today I need a little more to get my rocks off. I need a talented musician t...

Portable/pop up canopy search!!

I am going to be in the market for a nice quality pop up canopy in the near future for my DJ operation. I have had a few of the cheap ones for camping and things in the past. Those things could not handle any wind and after a year they start to fall apart pretty fast. I have seen quality ones at con...

Re: Low power spl bass setup in truck

I tinkered a little with the setting today I can low pass at 80hz 24dbslope, and dial it back and get a good crisp tight bass out of it. It’s nice!!! I can do what I said earlier and lowpass at 50hz 12dbsloped and do some has heavy bass track playback and slam the truck. Just what I think will make ...

Re: Hello from California

I feel inclined in that situation to suggest a few jack10” cabs hung from the rafters spread out. With no sub, personally I would not run one for outdoor setup like that. I would never place subs in the eaves personally. If you want some bass you could build some jack15 cabinets. Those cabs have pre...

Re: Low power spl bass setup in truck

I finished up the third AT today. Put it in my truck. So three 19”wide ATs with Dayton dcs-255 drivers. The amp is a kicker 750.1. This setup is almost as loud as when I had a ddaudio 9518 18” sub with an 8cuft box on a 2kw amp. I had dual alternators and could pop a 140amp fuse to the amp. That set...

Re: Low power spl bass setup in truck

I completed a second AT for my truck build today. Put it in my truck and it’s pretty loud!!!! I am excited to finish up the third cab. Bass totally drowns out my mids and highs but the low frequency extension is amazing it plays as low as any 18” driver setup I ever had in this truck. I have achieve...

Re: Low power spl bass setup in truck

That’s good information, when I try to do a quality stain and varnish to wood I will sand wet and sand a few times ending in like 220 grit, then stain and initial varnish coat. Sand with 220 again not enough to cut through the stain. Then a few sand and coat and sand and coat with varnish and 220-40...

Re: Low power spl bass setup in truck

I stained the other two cabs today. Just pending the plexi panel doors at this point. As for how the plexi doors go, well I don’t know yet, I have never done it before. It feels quite rigid I can’t get it to flex by hand after gluing two 1/4” pieces together. I would say the stuff I got is too flims...

19”total, which is max for single 10” driver, I will be running three of these cabs loaded with the dcs255 Dayton audio drivers. I am hoping to get stupid

Re: Low power spl bass setup in truck

The plexiglass is two pieces of 1/4” glued together for rigidity. If done right the adhesion is seemless. I have been wanting to use plexiglass on the panel doors since the beginning and here it is. The 1/4” material I got from scrap so cost for me was nice and low. Still making progress slow but su...
