I'll be the first blasphemer! I didn't use the Duratex. Cost and time were both factors. I have a local Sherwin Williams dealer that is pretty good. They have helped me with several odd requests. I ended up with a door paint that has a reasonably hard finish and good build. The results are pretty go...

Strange thing, I've been listening to the MP3 player through the speakers for the past 10 minutes and I'm sure the bass is getting louder.... I had a similar experience with mine. They seemed to have a "break in" period. After running them a few minutes I turned them down, a few more minu...

Good idea, though as you've found out the heavy wire takes too much heat to solder and that will damage tweeters. Use 18 to 24 gauge wire. I discovered that wiring up the Dual Speakons and 1/4 connectors on my Titan panels. Even when trimming out some of the strands they are still too big. Luckily ...

I thought about it

Do you remove the handle on the left side? I thought about clamping down the extension and using a single 4" guide in that slot. The other problem I noticed was that the sliding portion was not flush to the table and it rocked a bit. I wasn't real mad at the maker/store. I just felt dumb for no...

Not labeled Baltic

This stuff isn't labelled Baltic but it's pretty nice. Both surfaces are good with only small knots if any and I could not spot a void in any of the edges I checked. It was in the "cabinet" area. I was really surprised and pleased to find it at my local store. I just wish the had the table...

Plywood at HD

Portland, Oregon

1/2" 7 equal plys $33 for full sheets
3/4" 11 equal plys $40 for full sheets

I was pretty surprised to find it there. I had to pull out the glasses and double check.

Are those prices about normal? Didn't seem too bad considering what basic lumber costs these days.
