Re: impeadence curves/ excursion
So, ill have to learn to play with that molder, but for sake of argument, would this horn have more excursion at 42hz, then it does at 80ish hz? and what about comparing 35hz to 42hz? 35hz is a impendence low point sort of, so would it have less excursion then the peak at 42? I'm guessing the answer...

impeadence curves/ excursion
hi, I when you have a bass reflex speaker, the lowest point between the 2 impendence peaks, is the tuning frequency of the cabinet, and also the point of minimum excursion. On a bass horn, how would we determine the points of minimum / maximum excursion, or tuning ? I attached a random impendence cu...

Re: QSC RMX vs PLX for subs
as far as the ribbion cables, there is a qsc service bulletin, If it was made before July 1999 (the first four digits of the serial number indicate the month and year of manufacture, i.e., 1198xxxxx = November 1998),

Re: QSC RMX vs PLX for subs
I have some first hand experience comparing a plx3602 to a rmx4050hd... #1 the weight will not matter as far as the "sound", they will (sound) identical to the ear, as I have heard on a double blind test. #2 the 4050HD has very slightly higher output power @ 2 ohms. 1800watts vs 2000watts....

Re: T/S specs of LS1004 woofer
Yorkie use to use rcf drivers in some of their subs, then switched to b&c around the time the ls800 went to the ls808. i assume the ls1004 is also a rcf or b & c product .
the ls1208 uses a b&c woofer as well

why are horns long throw?
what makes a bass horn long throw, compared to a reflex sub? Doesn't all sound drop at 6db per doubling of distance?
how do horn subs defy this?

Re: Mono/stereo Stack
the vertical stack is going to have extremely, extremely narrow vertical hf coverage, but if aimed correctly would work the best. side by side is going to have horrible combflitering in the horizontal axis, so do not do that... crossfire, i have no idea but i imagine there is going to be a lot of com...

Re: compression driver distortion ?
fuzzy is the best way to describe the way it sounds. ill try to move me xover point upwards some. that driver was designed to run as low as 500hz according the the spec sheet....https://assets.peavey.com/literature/ma ... 304742.pdf

compression driver distortion ?
so we have all heard a distortion in one form or another. most common distortion i hear is from a power amp that is clipping heavily on a speaker system that can handle it without excursion issues for at least a while. but what about compression drivers on a properly bi-amped rig. what would it soun...

Re: Info about generator power output
OK, i just went threw this so here goes. i run a rig with 2 bridged plx3102 on 8 ohm subs, a plx3402 on mids, and a smaller amp on highs. i run 6x ev zlx12p monitors as well, and have done a lot of testing to determine the size of a generator i needed to buy. let me start by saying that program mate...

Re: plx qsc headroom?
the qsc manual states, the -10db light indicates 10% of full power, the -20db light indicates 1% full power. to me this seems to indicate it is indeed monitoring the output stage? i don't see how this could be? the amp cant possibly predict when it will clip w a reactive load? so if bill says it mon...
