Re: "Hard limiter" that lowers output as input rises?

Setup a sidechain ducking compressor. Trigger set from the main output before the limiter. Set to engage 1db lower than the limiter. The signal to be attenuated could be the audio input or the main output. It won't be linear like you want but a 6 or 10db drop will get their attention. Set the attack...

Wood is oak, Finish is Formby's tung oil finish. Baffle is glued and the drivers are loaded from the rear. The tweeters are centered.

Re: The effects of using too thick a cable in tops

On the piezo's don't use a heavy gauge because you run the risk of desoldering the piezo element before you get the solder to flow on those big wires. I now use 22 ga bare wire and simply wrap the wire around the lug then just apply a dab of solder, no more cutting and stripping all those wires. Sav...

Yamaha 01v may work for you with an expansion card.

Re: XTI 1000 problem!!!!

The 2 amps that I own and had to repair the ribbon cables were not in the problem range of serial #.
I doubt the problem you are having is related to ribbon cables, the power switch is mounted directly to the main board IIRC.

Re: Decent 1/2 plywood SOS for THTLP build.

I'd do the 3/4" for the exterior and 1/2" interior. Just keep the interior dimensions the same and the response will remain unchanged.

Re: Multiple Tlahs using Apex jr tweet/Aurasound NS525-255-8

You may want to reconsider the apex jr tweeter if the lowest it will go is 6k. The NS525 should be crossed @ about 4k due to cone breakup. With any speaker/tweeter the center to center spacing should be as close as you can make it for best results.

In all fairness it's no worse than the watered down tasteless swill that Budweiser passes off as beer. Luckily Canada is but a two hour drive so I can periodically refill the larder with good beer without difficulty. Perhaps we'll have to expand this DIY forum into something more tasty. :hyper: :fr...

Desoldering 20 pins and getting them all to let loose with out delaminating the traces didn't seem worth the time or risk of damage.
