Re: Hello From Texas

Thanks Tom for the link to European suppliers. That is an impressive list of suppliers.

Re: Hello From Texas

Maybe PDF could work. I will contact you soon and we will try to see if I can download them. I don't do anything with MS Word. I have very fast internet so speeds not an issue. I have found a supplier for Baltic Birch plywood in various different thicknesses. I will have to source supply of an adhes...

Re: Hello From Texas

I am back, I have a story for you all. Since I joined, My life has made a 180 degree turn. I have sold all my gear in Texas in 2017 and moved to Hungary. I have bought an old farm house here in rural Hungary. I have a barn that was once a cabinet shop with lots of 3 phase power. I am going to buy so...

Re: Ashly Protea 3.6SP problem

Bill, I have the owner manual and it does not mention it having one, I also thought about that possibility. I will call them tomorrow and ask them if it has one. I also considered the possibility it may have a cracked solder joint somewhere.

Re: Ashly Protea 3.6SP problem

Thanks dswpro.I have not done another show since my issue happened. I am going to setup my gear in my garage this coming weekend and see if I have any issues still. I am planning to purchase a DBX Driverack Venue 360 in January because I think the Driverack series are more user friendly. I own a bun...

Ashly Protea 3.6SP problem

I have had something happen to my Ashly Protea that I am not sure what caused the issue. I have owned this unit for at least 5-6 years and have been the only one to use it. It has always been used with a Furman surge protector and I have always kept the memory lock set on it to prevent tampering. Lo...

Re: permanent ban

+1 what Bill is saying, I am a moderator on 2 forums and the spammers hit them 24 hours a day. No matter what I do, they always find ways to make accounts and post their garbage. It really doesn't even help to ban entire ranges of IP addresses, they just use another range. I have found that setting ...

Re: amp wiring (sort of)

This thread reminds me of a gig I had a couple weekends ago. The artist request was he wanted to input L & R signal into my Yamaha LS9-32 from his Behringer X18air (i think) it was not the X32. I have no idea why their sound guy didn't want to just let me unplug my mixer and let him send his sig...

Re: DIY Amp Rack

I like it only thing I would change were I building a rack like this is splurge for some recess spring loaded handles. I once built a 14 space just like this for a FOH drive rack and I used 1/2 inch plywood. Nice job David.

Re: DIY - DJ mixing board CD player case

Dave must be old skool like I was. I resisted getting a digital console for years but my advancing years and my very bad back finally convinced me that dealing with a 300+ lbs mixer and road case plus 2 efx racks at FOH position it was time to rethink some things, either I had to ditch some of the w...

Re: Best electronics guy I have found yet

I need a repair guy like that but living in Texas shipping an 80lb mixing console would probably be as much as it would cost to buy another one used. I have a Peavey SRC2410 Monitor console that the power supply is going bad and the local guy wanted $95 an hour to tell me what I already know. I was ...

Re: Storing drivers/cabs in the hot summer

I doubt the heat by itself would hurt them in the short term but the high humidity makes me say get them out of the unconditioned attic. Just my opinion but I never leave my equipment out in high humidity places for more than the few hours they are being used for an event.

Re: My New Youtube Channel

Leland, are you going to do any BFM videos on the T39 and T48 tips and techniques for home builders of those models? Basic tips on assembly and what to watch out for? That would be awesome. I don't mean a step by step type video just a video that points out useful things a first time builder needs t...

Re: Hello From Texas

I have been doing a lot of research on here and I am toying with the idea of also doing some DJ work in the future. No, I don't see me needing to go below 40hz with anything I might DJ, mostly modern country music from the 1980's to the early 2000's and also alternative rock and classic rock. I have...
