Re: Inexpensive setup?
Build the cab as wide as you possibly can (up to the full 27") to wring every single bit of SPL you can out of it if you can only make one of them right now. And the T60 is hilariously huge but using a sack truck and rolling it around with the mouth up (so the majority of the weight is at the ...

Re: Inexpensive setup?
Weight isn't a concern as I have castors for the sub, I'll be able to wheel it around. I actually bought a driverack px off kijiji for only $180, it came with an rta too! I also bought a rebranded yamaha p7000s amp called a deura sb7000 for only $200 off kijiji - it works great so far, I think I got...

Re: Tinting DuraTex
Thanks for the help! Another question, I'm building a T60, would a single quart of DuraTex be enough for coverage if I use primer underneath? http://qcomponents.ca/home.php doesn't seem to have the gallon version of deep tint; they only have single quart's for $60. I emailed them to see what they co...

Re: T60 Build
I still need to pick up plywood, seems like its going to be around $45 a sheet for 5x5 BB That's the same price I pay down here in Medicine Hat. Was $40 a year ago. Yea, windsor was $45/sheet and timber town was $44.99. I was hoping to find a cheaper place somewhere but I've had no luck. Also, wher...

Re: T60 Build
If you can make it wider, make it wider. My two are 18" wide and they're too narrow to make use of the low end and don't really have much in the way of output below 30hz. Just a thought. The max width I can go is 19", plus 1" for side panels as the plans say if I remember correctly. ...

Re: T60 Build
Welcome to the forum, Jake! Question: On the last picture of the Lab12 in the album, there's a cardboard-like piece taped on top of the speaker. Am I going to be using this in some way? That cardboard piece is a gasket in case you put the Lab12 into a hole rather than on top of a hole. You won't nee...

T60 Build
I just got back from school and I'm ready to start building my first Fitzmaurice speaker. However, I'm now working 7 days a week and I wont have as much time for building as I thought. Either way, I'm still excited! I'm building a 20" T60 to go along with a pair of 15" Peavey SP2's. I migh...

Tinting DuraTex
I was looking at Q-Component's(Canada) DuraTex, and decided I want to try tinting DuraTex to a deep dark color for finishing the cabs I'm going to be building. There are two kinds I can get, one is a roller grade white($100), and the other is a roller grade black($88). The white DT says it is tint-a...

Re: Inexpensive setup?
I will make a cardboard box and see how big the T60 is and see if it will be too much of an inconvenience, it will make things much easier to get a real life comparison. Until then we could probably close this thread because its in the amps section and now we are talkin' woofers. I might start a thr...

Re: Inexpensive setup?
Hi jakeobr, Welcome to the forum :) Lets take this one step at a time. Why did you choose a T60? Is it because of the content you think it needs to reproduce, or, because of the genre you usually play, you have measured the content and know you need a T60. In other words, tell us the genre(s) you u...

Inexpensive setup?
hi, I just purchased a Lab12; I'm going to be building a 19" T60 in the summer, but I don't know what to do with my amp situation...right now i have a pair of old Peavey Sp2's that the T60 will be working with, I also already have a mixer for my setup. I think a single T60 will suffice. opinion...
