I know there are two versions, the one I used says on the label good for 'gap filling'. It didn't seem to have the 'instant grab' that it claimed, but it seemed to work okay for this project.
I'll try the PL on the next build (titans).

DR250 and WHOA...I'm giddy like a little girl
It took just over a month from recieving the plans (ok - five weeks), but 1 (and 3/4) DR250's are done. Here's the rundown. I worked on both of them, performing double steps all the way until the wiring. After wiring the first one, I couldn't stand the wait. I finished that one the rest of the way a...

foam in the dr's
What is the purpose of the foam in the woofer chamber of the dr's? Also, how accurate does the coverage need to be? I know the plans call out covering the inside of the access panel, but in order to COMPLETELY cover the inner surfs of the chamber would require great deal of cutting and fitting... If...

Is there a time you SHOULDN'T add a resistor to the piezo's
I've read the articles about the oscillations of cheap amps and that adding the resistor will help prevent it, and doesn't hurt otherwise. I'm just curious if there is a time that adding the resistor is actually bad...

I checked out PE's site which leads me to two questions. 1 There are different gauge wires: which would be appropriate for my current setup? I assume the needs would be different if I were pushing thousands of watts through the wires. 2. How long is too long for that given wire size? I understand af...

Favorite place to buy speaker cables
So I've bought all this great hardware to build a wicked set of DR's. I'm running through the checklist and find that I need to add another 30% to the budget just to buy speakon cables to put it together. I know its a one time cost, but they just don't seem worth THAT MUCH money...ok - I feel better...

I just bought some stone texture paint at Lowes, by a company called American Accents . I will be trying it out on some test samples before hitting the DR's, I'll let you know how it goes. The one thing that makes me nervous - there is no approximate coverage area listed and the stuff was $8/can. If...

how's the duratex holding up
Just curious to hear from some people who have been using the duratex in service for a while now. How does it hold up to the rigors of road abuse compared to tolex or other carpet-type stuffs..
