Re: 4x OTop 12 (Delta Pro 12A + PSD2013)

9. One more thing I want to add: the side port. When I listened to music standing near the rear of OT12s, I can hear the mid pretty easy. I think it is the result of side port. Should it be the potential feedback problem when we use it in relatively small to medium indoor show? At those situation, ...

Re: What program is it that indicates content frequency range

Thanks for the link to Resonic. Can't wait to download and try it. I've messed with Audacity quite a bit in the past, but always was a little unsure if I was analyzing and seeing the frequencies correctly. This looks better.

Re: Speaker Delay

Yep, get a driverack. I have 2 t30s just like you, normally v-plated in front. Easy to enter the delay in distance into the driverack.

Re: Speaker wire gauge?

Watch out for the copper clad aluminum stuff (CCA). If you use CCA, you should bump up a size to match pure copper. I run relatively short 12g to my subs, 14g or 16g to the tops. Inside my tubas, I think I ran 14g, but it may be 12g.

Re: Background music remote control ?

Interesting. I don't like that you have to have an internet connection. I had bad wifi yesterday, and a couple times songs just stopped. Went back to saved tracks only to keep the tunes rolling.

Re: Background music remote control ?

True about spotify for a paid gig. I didn't realize that was the scope. I'll have to check out Tidal

Re: Background music remote control ?

One simple way: if you play music from a laptop running spotify, you can change tracks from your phone running the spotify app and logged on to the same account. I don't think you can make it download tracks to the laptop though, so you'd have to get all the music you'd want downloaded to the laptop...

Re: Otop Jarray build x 4

Well, the otops got their introduction yesterday. Ran them from about 4p until 11p. Got a late start for setting up, so was unable to get the tubas running off a bridged amp. No worries, plenty of volume. The otops sounded great. EQ curve looked pretty weird after autoEQ but it worked. Can't wait to...

Setting voltage limits

I finished my breakout panel and wired the sub cable to take the +1/+2 from the amp and send it to +1/-1 on the panel so I can bridge my Crown. Obviously I'll need to reset the limiter on my PA2 accordingly. Can you please verify my steps as follows; Hook up multimeter to the speaker leads from the ...

Re: Otop stacking brackets

Thanks Bruce. I did find some pictures of a couple people that had made the double-tripod platform. That may be an option, but still looks a little janky. I hear you about the flat surface for the plate. I figured it would work great indoors, and was thinking about some "outriggers" with leveling sc...

Otop stacking brackets

For those of you who have built the stacking brackets for your otops, any issues with the 3/8" screws in the bracket holes? I am thinking I should put some flange bearings into the holes so the screw threads won't tear up the plywood over time. I seem to remember Grant saying he put some copper pipe...

Re: Amp rack questions

Thanks for the tip about the breakout panel being on the front of the rack. Never really even though about that before. For my little rack, I don't have an extra slot to make it work, but I can on my big rolling rack. Glad i saw this while I was building my panel - made the leads longer so that they...

Re: Otop Jarray build x 4

They're alive!! Got the backs on and just had a chance to do a quick op check. Didn't have much time, so I simply hooked them up one at a time to one channel of the stereo in the living room with no EQ. One thing is immediately clear - they are super efficient. With a decent Sony bookshelf speaker o...
