Re: Hell hath frozen over! A short story
IEMs WORK FOR PEOPLE WITH HEARING LOSS TOO. I have had the opportunity to work with a certain East Coast (USA) touring band which has a lead guitarist/harmony vocalist (Dave) who in the past needed his stage monitor to be stupid loud, mostly his vox. This had caused some feed back problems which irr...

Re: QSC GX 7 used in my rig
Thanks for all the info guys, I have fixed the problem by going through all the PA 2's setup with a fresh start, turned off all eq (parm & graphic, even the auto eq) and now the clip light doesn't ever come on and the limiters attack before clip light just flashes momentarily @100% volume on thi...

Re: QSC GX 7 used in my rig
The speaker cable is 20' 12 ga wire..so I don't think the cable is the problem. I will try backing off the low end eq, but seems like it would defeat the purpose of a 25 hz sub for electronic music. the crossover slope is a L/R 48db/oct set to 25 hz. Thanks for the info, I will go into a more thorou...

QSC GX 7 used in my rig
Time has gone by and I have run quite a few live band shows very successfully using 4 X Titan 39's "V" plated powered with a QSC GX 7 through a Driverack PA 2 with appropriate limiter settings. For tops I use the two DR 250's powered with a QSC GX 5. All stage monitors, two WH 8's and two ...

Re: Behringer NU4-6000 voltage test and other assorted ideas....
Awesome..nice to know you can reverse the airflow. I stand firm in my commitment to NOT put all my amps in a single amp rack. I have four stackable DIY amp racks, each with its own amp and processor or power conditioner, whatever is needed. Each box is around 50 lbs, most are 4U with one a 6U. My st...

Re: Unbiased DR250 @ T60 review
That is a great looking system, I can only imagine the sound. I get the same kind of compliments everywhere I use my system, regardless of if it's for bands or DJs. KUDOS TO YOU!! I am assuming this rig is a semi-permanent install. I would like to go 2 DR250's a side like this but I need to design s...

Re: Is there a good glue to attach cab badges?
Thanks for the helpful suggestions guys. After some experimentation with the contact (rubber) adhesive I have found a technique that works well. (1. holding the badge face down between two fingers, apply a thin coat of contact adhesive. I used a Q-tip. (2. Allow to dry completely, approximately 15 m...

Is there a good glue to attach cab badges?
I recently received my order of BFM cab badges and have tried contact adhesive to glue them on. I have read folks using screws to attach them but don't want to do that, I want a glue that will work to glue them onto the cab and stick well to the duratex coated cabs. Commercial speaker builders use s...

Re: What to use as front fill speakers?
If it's a more or less permanent install I'd hand a W8 or two on the front rafters, separately powered and EQ'd. Separately powered and eq'd is the idea. There is no permanent install in my future, though I like the rafters idea. I like taking my portable gym/pa :loler: wherever I can fit it in. He...

Re: What to use as front fill speakers?
With the DRs toed-in like that, unless someone is spending the whole time two feet from the stage, there is no need for front fill. Did you walk up there and check it out? Most of the time it just isn't worth it - trying to add coverage for such a tiny spot. I'm splitting my tops about 40 feet, the...

What to use as front fill speakers?
I am using 2 X DR 250 and 2 X Titan 39 (soon to be 4) for my front of house arrangement for live sound. Lets say I was outside at a festival and the stage was pretty wide causing a wide separation of the DR250's, with the 2 Titans at front center stage and felt that a center/front fill pair of speak...

Re: 8 x DR250 build
All that blue and silver seems to me to be more of a distraction. I guess the setting would make a difference. These will be used in a dark club and will have to compete against the dancefloor and stage lighting for attention. They need to be bright just to catch some light so that they can be seen...

Re: 8 x DR250 build
bottom left for me also, and I think you may be right to darken the silver a bit. I am with you on this idea of making sure no one can mistake these for consumer grade pa crap. Others like a more restrained/commercial look, but I think people should see and hear that these are something different th...
