Grills are cut from 22x30 blanks from PE. Part # 262-888
I used a 36" stomp shear to cut them to shape.

Re: Simplexx 212 3012HO WO NF Bass Cabinet
My guess would be that it would not sound good for an acoustic guitar. It would sound like you're playing your acoustic guitar through a bass cabinet.

Re: Simplexx 212 3012HO WO NF Bass Cabinet
Gonna take a WAG and say about 32lb. Feels feather light to pick up. No reason to build 2 singles when it’s this light unless pack space is an issue. This is truly a one size fits any situation bass cab assuming you have PA support in the largest settings. She stands proud without PA support even in...

Re: Simplexx 212 3012HO WO NF Bass Cabinet
For the trim around the grills, I used a type of automotive interior trim, obtained from an auto body supply store, it's cross section is basically u-shaped and it's pre-filled with adhesive in the channel so you just press it on. Works great, very easy. I'm sure there are different colors so you ca...

This is me about to use my new saawwrrd on a sheet of 5x5. I didn't realize sunshine came out my back side until a friend showed me this photo. Weird.

Simplexx 212 3012HO WO NF Bass Cabinet
Simplexx212-05s.jpg Simplexx212-03s.jpg I’ve said it before and I’m sayin’ it again…..This is the ultimate bass cabinet. This time really.... No really. My Simplexx 212 has absolutely amazing low end, super smooth, perfect punch and the perfect amount of dig in growl, plenty of highs for my style, ...

Re: First "shop" setup
JP I think you’re on the right track. As you said this is a hobby so what ever you do is ultimately correct as long as you derive pleasure from doing it. I agree the DR’s might be a tad much to chew first bite especially with all the other challenges you have, ie, slanted floors, no table saw, zero ...

Full system review (or a story of screw-ups)
So we played a big gig at Cardinal Stadium (University of Phoenix Stadium technically) on Christmas day and I got to do sort of a mini concert set up. It was outside on what they call The Great Lawn. Tailgate competition, several thousand people, pre-game show. The rig consisted of 4-T48x30x3015LF V...

Jack 210 Bass Cabinet (no tweets)
OK, my last review was for 2 Jack12’s, no tweets and I said that was the ultimate bass cabinet setup. Well, now I’ve got a J210 that I’ve been using at quite a few gigs and I’ve found my new favorite. I’m a builder so I’m biased and all that but this thing is really amazing. I’ve been playing bass f...

Re: Anybody use Incra?
The number one best purchase I've made for building speakers has been the Excalibur Sliding Table Attachment. I attached this to my Grizzly table saw and it is the only way to easily get perfectly square panels. You can cut full sheets of 5x5 if you want but like Bill says it's sometimes easier to c...

Re: The Jack12 - The Best Bass Cab Ever
I havn't built either of the regular Omni's but I'd venture a guess the Jack12 is an easier build as well.
+1 on the modular advantage. With the 3012's they are super light weight and easy to carry. You just can't go wrong with these.

Re: The Jack12 - The Best Bass Cab Ever
I guess I'm lucky. My guitarist recently decided to stop bringing his amp and 4x12 and now just goes out of his tone lab pedal into the PA. His old cab was so bassy we would compete on some notes. Now it's super clean on stage and the sound out front is superb. Now if I could get the guys in my othe...

Well, my guitar player did say "Can you not point those things right at me?" My drummer says he can here them lock with his kick better than the old ones.

The Jack12 - The Best Bass Cab Ever
While I’ve been a builder here for years I had never used any of Bill’s designs for my bass guitar. I always tried my bass through most of the builds but usually just plucked a few notes in my shop and thought, not my sound. I even did this with the J12. I’ve been using two Euponic Audio single 10 t...

Well I hope you don’t mind if I show you a few family photos, I probably get this from my dad as he was relentless with the Kodak Carousel slide projector. Just so you know the blue blood lineage a shot not only of the parents but of that magical moment. I wasn’t thinking and left these two WH10’s (...
