Re: Cutlist plugin for Sketchup question.

I was thinking I would have someone else cut the parts for me. I was trying to see if I get someone locally to do something similar to a "Flat PacK. Just for side conversation, I still really want to do 6 or 8 O-Top 12 J-array cabs, but honestly 2 to 4 O-Top 15s should help open up a few more d...

Re: Cutlist plugin for Sketchup question.

Grant, glad you are still around, and yes that is the case with my plans. I was looking for something a little more specific on the parts. Maybe I just need to take the plan with me....

Cutlist plugin for Sketchup question.

Is anyone familiar with this plaugin for Sketchup? http://sketchupplugins.com/plugins/cutlist/ If install this plugin for Sketchup is this going to be able to create a cutlist from the Sketchup images? Some of the Sketchup files show multiple images as Bill provided multiple options in the plans, wi...

Re: Some Ideas I am tossing back and forth.

That would certainly be a good option. How many cabs a side were you thinking, and have you thought ahead as to how you are going to utilize that option? ie, mini scaffolding rig each side, or stands (max 2 cabs per side) to hold the cabs up? I am thinking I want to build the stand in the plans wit...

After much more studying, it currently looks to me like O-Top 12 J-Arrays are going to be hard to beat for multi purpose usefulness......

Re: Some Ideas I am tossing back and forth.

I appreciate everyone's efforts and replies. I have read through them and believe I should go back over them before I respond further or ask anyone else to respond further. I hope we are able to continue this more in a few days. A large part of the delay is personal time constraints, the other large...

Re: Some Ideas I am tossing back and forth.

Thank you Bruce and Grant for your replies. I was really hoping you two were both still around here! You both asked good questions that help me see where I need to be more clear to help us all create better communication and understanding. Bruce's reply: You'll have a BFM OT12 or Jack in addition to...

Some Ideas I am tossing back and forth.

The first thing I need to be clear on is that I will be multi-amping with an active crossover to multiple cabinets functioning in different frequency ranges. Please no lectures about not buying crossovers from the Speakermax or whatever it is website. Note: Bill is an engineer, he inherently underst...

Re: "Hard limiter" that lowers output as input rises?

Bruce Weldy, when you quoted me you left out the part about the experiential gap! The rest of my statement looks like nonsense with out it. If you take the whole statement together it makes even more sense. My primary sound experience is as a DJ. I hove plenty of experience with crossovers and EQs, ...

My apologies sir, I think I may have been multitasking a bit to much at that time. Since I screwed that up I won't try and add any more humor at the moment. Nonetheless definitely, welcome aboard!

CoronaOperator, any chance you will try that live soon and let us know how well that works. I for one appreciate testing gear at home or in other environments...but really appreciate knowing how well it worked live! I may be looking at it from the wrong perspective...but the next to the last pic loo...

Re: "Hard limiter" that lowers output as input rises?

A position of a slider isn't a guarantee,it still depends on content of signal! Then explain how this "hard knee" limiter works : http://i769.photobucket.com/albums/xx338/coronaoperator/Analog_Limiter.jpg :D :D I really like that one !!!! OLD SCHOOL TO THE MAX!!!!! It is still possible to...

Re: "Hard limiter" that lowers output as input rises?

Quick related question: I have been testing my mixer to see the point at which it clips. I have used sine waves (as you can easily hear clipping with these) at various frequencies. If I can get my mixer to, say, +8dB when it clips (happens at the same point with all sine wave freqs), can I safely a...
