Re: HowieZ's T24 build

...Could not get limiter to do what I thought it should. I used the 'rack's pink noise generator while measuring voltage. I was thinking I'd get 50v out of my crown XLS 2502, but I was barely hitting 40... Need to test amplifier output voltage while playing a sinewave. The inexpensive digital multi...

Re: Otop 8...i'm back

first pair printed ! Looks great. I'd do ABS for sure, then easier to glue together with black ABS cement. What kind of printer do you have? I have a Qidi i-Fast and just got a Creality K1 Max to replace it. Qidi is heated, great for ABS, but i'm going to sell it and get another K1 Max or try a Bam...

Re: HowieZ's T24 build

Because Seth still hasn't warmed to the idea that, "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should". I'm guilty of this too, using odd drivers etc. But I did FTP 99% this time, only choosing a home/non-pro driver since i'm no pro. And I think only one spec was off by more than 10...

Re: Truck Tuba for the Jeep Liberty

I have it playing in the garage on the old home theater receiver and stand alone two channel amplifier. It started out kinda weak sounding. I let it play for 3 to 4 hours and its opening up. I assume the speaker had to loosen up some. It sounds good now. Very musical as many people say and blends e...

Re: Truck Tuba for the Jeep Liberty

Looks good, power will be plenty. My son is rocking one off the factory sub amp in a 2012 pilot. We also chose a DVC to run at 2ohms since the factory sub is said to be 3ohms. We bought an infinity sub that was switchable 2/4. It's working fine at 2 and substantially louder than factory.

Re: HowieZ's T24 build

I put my T24 on 4 casters. I can't see how you can tip those back and use just two casters as short as they are. Are you going to stack them for moving? Maybe I'm not understanding how you are planning to use 'em. Yes I planned the casters for stacked moving. Roll them to truck, tip up and roll oth...

Re: HowieZ's T24 build

I have a v-plating question, so I need to show my progress, or lack thereof lately. I've been fiddling with casters and feet. I don't remember if I ever showed, but I put the Reliable Hardware Company RH-9024BK-A Recessed Tilt Caster on my T-48's that recess into the corner reflector area some peopl...

Re: HowieZ's T24 build

Been a bit, busy with a vacation week and camping on weekends, but cab 1 is finally done. I've been listening to it a bit while on sawhorses and sanding/finishing. Hoping to break it in more, as I did not give it a full 8 hours of tones as recommended and I normally do. I ran each driver a few hours...

Re: DR build questions

I route channels in the bottom for HF wires on the Jacks & O-Tops, bringing it up behind the HF brace, maybe I could try in on a DR..? I tried 'the opposite' of routing a channel in the bottom on my DR200 build. I routed a small chunk of ply with a channel for wire. Then I beveled it to lay aga...

Re: DR2xx scaling

When you scale down the size it's at the expense of low end sensitivity. IMO the DR200 is as small as is practical. I had a feeling this might happen. If I could get near 120Hz, I'd live with it, and cover with subs. I'm also not sure Plaster of Paris is my answer. There's a thread or two floating ...

DR2xx scaling

Bill, could one theoretically scale down the DR series even smaller than the DR200? We have a new 3D printer at work, and I can print about a 12" cube. I watched a YT video where someone built a desktop TL speaker with 3D printed plastic. He made it hollow walled, and filled them with plaster o...

Re: HowieZ's T24 build

Looking at the graphs below, it does make sense though, that an 18" T24 could start to take on the "sonic signature" of the 16" shown in the graph, with a little kick at the bottom end. Where the 24" T24's response more closely resembles that of the T48. T24W24DBP102,T24W16...

Re: HowieZ's T24 build

Ok, I have one cab pretty much done and I've done some listening. I've placed it on the floor in the garage next to my pair of Titan 48's. I took one Titan offline and connected it's amp to the T24. I used the Dayton Audio phone mic to roughly match the level of one T48 and one T24. I'd run the T48,...
