Re: How to build Rack Panels and put together a rack
Looks great. Also for anyone looking for pre-punched panels, these are quite good for about $10 ea. I have them in my racks. http://www.audiopile.net/RP2UM http://www.audiopile.net/RP1UM http://www.audiopile.net/Rack-Drawers-and-Hardware_c_152.html Also generally a good source for a fair bit of audi...

Re: Anyone doing FPGA DSP?
I'm interested in this as well, here's a bit of what I've found. It's possible to do audio processing with FPGA's, but doesn't seem to be as easy as with a microprocessor or DSP chip. Here's a helpful page: https://www.mathworks.com/help/hdlcoder/examples/running-an-audio-filter-on-live-audio-input-...

Re: Calculating nominal impedance with multiple BFM subs.
For something like this I'd go with a series-parallel configuration. Lightens the load, and you should be able to get an amplifier with plenty of power to do that easily.

Re: Replacing a EMX 5000
If you're willing to go used, a Yamaha 01v96 can be found for $500-$1000. Maybe a little more than you need, but for a mostly consistent setup I've found the presets and per channel digital PEQ to be very handy. I put one in at my church, and also use one personally (01V97VCM V2). Lots of routing op...

Re: Looking for an amp recommendation
I'd probably put them in parallel and get something like the Dayton SA230. Or if fan noise wasn't an issue I'd look at a used QSC RMC that I could pull and use in my full rig if needed, but that might not be a consideration for you. The Bryston looks like a nice amp, but you'd need a crossover to go...

Re: Problem: Making the time for DIY
I managed to pull off a DR250 on top of full time work and school, just go for whatever you can get, bit by bit.
One workbench. More is nice, but it doesn't take that much.
And yes, build subs early, they make building the rest more fun

Re: iNuke 6000 NU4
I'm pretty sure mine's not upwards of 20 lbs. I think that's a typo. Check the weight on this, it's about right: https://www.amazon.com/GTD-Audio-Channel-Professional-Amplifier/dp/B00G84U19M?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0 (Edit) That's the higher powered model I own, not the one I linked ea...

Re: iNuke 6000 NU4
If I had the money to build a new rig I'd go all the way with the PLD series.

Re: iNuke 6000 NU4
Since you're looking at the 4 channel inuke I'll assume you don't need dsp. Personally, knowing the history of Behringer I won't buy them on principle (at least new, and I try to avoid used) I've had some of their gear, and about half of it hasn't had any issues yet. I've also repaired more gear of ...

Re: Speakons; Just use the screws or solder them?
+1 Cable management is very important to a well-managed system. I think the worst example I've seen was when I was working video at a venue, and the client brought in a 'friend who had a sound system' They had some decent speakers, powered QSC boxes, and a high end DJ console, but they had very litt...

Re: Speakons; Just use the screws or solder them?
Whenever possible I solder. I realize a good crimped or screwed connection can be quite solid, but I've seen a number of them fail or loosen over time, and never seen one of my solder joints fail through any fault of it's own. I see it as an extra 5 minutes for never having to worry about it again (...

Can you upload it to dropbox or google drive and post a link?
Not that I have any great need for it at the moment, but it would be nice to see for future consideration, and I'm sure others would find it helpful as well.
