Re: 8" wide MCM TruckTuba
I meant actually unbolting the driver, flipping it over, and bolting it back in with the magnet sticking out, not in. Would that make a difference?

Re: 8" wide MCM TruckTuba
1. The "regular" AT has a sealed rear chamber. This one appears open. Is the "cabin" of the truck the "sealed rear chamber"?
2. Would it matter if the driver were positioned 180 degrees so the front of the cone was loaded instead of the rear?

Free CNC software imports, flattens, nests, Sketchup files
I just returned from a seminar on Vectric software which I use daily with my Shopbot CNC machine. Trial Version: http://www.vectric.com/products/vcp/trial.html The latest version of the VCarve Pro has a unique and clever way to import Sketchup files. Provided the Sketchup files are arranged accordin...

Harley, which app did you go with? I can't say all my exports have been "seamless". And regarding Durex, google shows that as a condom manufacturer...I suspect that is exactly what you meant?

Re: Woodcutting - CAD Files from SketchUp? Or other sources?
I have my virus protection up to date and furthermore have had this installed for years with no problems. EVERY Sketchup plug-in that I have seen so far has the same warning. There is an alternative, I think this may be the same thing though... http://www.guitar-list.com/download-software/convert-sk...

Re: Woodcutting - CAD Files from SketchUp? Or other sources?
Plug in: https://sites.google.com/site/jimfoltz/my-sketchup-plugins/freedxf Sometimes (when the plug in doesn't look or scale "right") I download Sketchup Pro. Pro gives you I think around 500 minutes free. So, I'll download and use it just long enough to export the dxf's I need then unins...

Re: Woodcutting - CAD Files from SketchUp? Or other sources?
"Explode" on SketchUp doesn't seem to produce any dimensions to each of the parts on the resulting list. I'm probably doing something stupid here.... Very grateful for ideas - as I couldn't see anything recent in this group of discussions, to cover this. I use Sketchup to draw many items ...

That stems from the fact they have to have roots that grow bass ackwards, at least that's the dirt I've been told.

Re: Newbie question about wiring (series vs. parallel)
Using the recommended drivers and crossover as stated in the plans, it is stated an average 6 ohm impedance. On my tube amp, what tap would you all recommend, the 4 ohm or 8 ohm tap?

Re: Newbie question about wiring (series vs. parallel)
Excellent explanation. In my mind I'll think of this as "electric impedance" and "acoustic impedance". The electric impedance being the speaker impedance (eg 4 ohms) and acoustic impedance (eg 2 ohms). OK, so now I have plans for the David speaker. It, like the Tuba 18 referened ...

Re: DR250 + Titan39, some questions
I have a Milwaukee hand held 3.5hp router rigidly mounted to the CNC machine. I used to run it way too fast rpm wise and too slow travel speed wise. I get good results using a 1/4" 2 flute carbide end mill on plywood at about 12-14k rpm at 4 inches per second travel speed. Edited to include I r...

Re: DR250 + Titan39, some questions
I am not familiar with Solidworks but I do you use Sketchup and 2.5D CAD to create objects for CNC machining. First off, be sure that the CAM portion of Solidworks isn't outputting a 3D CNC file. In other words, it may not only direct the machine to make the various cuts, it may also tell it to surf...
