Re: Sony SLA Review

Very nice! You will not miss tweets in the surrounds. I thought of adding lights, but did not want the extra power cords to play with.

Re: Rane MA-6S

Had one for many years, ( actually the model which predates the 6S), and used it in many applications. American iron to be sure...Heavy. Can also bridge channels for 300w x3 or other combinations.. Very versatile.
I don't think rane makes the 6er any more. Excellent for perm or semi /fixed install.

Re: Hello and a couple questions...

For the size of your room, the 8 should be fine. I believe the Tang Bang 8 option may allow a little more power, but is more expensive. I've used the Tang Bang as well as a 10". happy with either. You may need to find a driver rated at 8 ohms that fits within the guidelines in the plans. Onkyo ...

Re: Hello and a couple questions...

More than enough. My amp rating is a little higher, but the TT replaced 2 subs running a plate amp rated at 500 watts

Re: Hello and a couple questions...

Here is how I have it set up. I have a powered Zone 2 option when I run the receiver in 5.1. vs 7.1 Subwoofer pre-out to unused audio input (In my case the "cd" input). Only one channel. L. TT wired to the powered zone 2 speakers .Only one channel ,same as the input. L. xovers are adjusted...

Re: Hello and a couple questions...

Some users of the TT, like myself, just use an unused channel of a 7.1 receiver. I only need the 5.1 speaker settings.Works very well if you have that option.
The TT waay out performs my dual sub set-up it replaced.

Table Tuba Comparision

It was time to improve the current Subs in my system, so I built a Table Tuba. I used a driver which was originally in a sealed box design, but was deemed within specs and suitable for an AT or TT. I was running 2 of these in my HT, but wanted to see what would be the difference using one of these d...

Re: Gauss and the DR200s

I use the panel gig for the angle cuts also. Some use additional gigs for the larger angles. But I have never had a problem. I referenced panel placement on the crossbar, marking the angle when the blade passes thru. (A different depth of blade helps. 90,3,5,6,7, degrees etc.). Practice on scrap ply...

Re: DR200 and T30 First Impressions

T30 loaded w/ Delta-12LFA, single. 24" wide. These are the slim version from some older versions of plans. Use is primarily for DJ work. But they are cumbersome for hauling around,(I'm well past the age for lugging big boxes), the pair really fills the back of a mini-van. Great Great performers...

Re: PL Squeeze

What I do...during assembly, let PL squeeze out. Do not try and smooth out. Let it be, till it reaches a semi-set up "rubbery" consistency takes anywhere from half hour to two, depending on temp, humidity, etc. Score with utility knife, it will pull off in one nice piece. Do not waste your ti...
