The rusty one in the second photo is a trunk nail. It doesn't go all the way through. Pull it out like a nail. They are split on the end so they will fan out and grip the wood.

The driver spec sheet is perfectly accurate for the mounting hole and screws. Lay it out with a compass and a straight-edge... Probably more accurate than printing it out.

Don't let 'better' be the enemy of 'good'. Hook them up and run them. After you get over the initial shock, proceed to tune to your heart's content. Don't let critical tuning get in the way at first. You'll probably want to damn the lot of us for letting you get into this.... You're welcome. :wink:

I carry half a dozen SM58s but they don't come out that often. My favorite, though unfortunately recently discontinued, is the Shure 588SDX. I think they are the last iteration of the Unisphere... It has a little less prox effect than the 58, but the high end has a bump around 12k that really works ...

I was in a demo room (the size of two high school gymnasiums) last year when a SINGLE Clair Brother's i218 was brought to war volume.
I have higher expectations of what good sound can be now......

Play a recording od a 100Hz test tone. Test at full gain without a loudspeaker connected. Meter the outputs. Voltage at the output should be close to advertised specs.

You cannot do a brick-wall limiter in analogue.
If price is an issue, find a Behringer DCX2496.
It will cost a lot less than replacing drivers.
