Re: SLA Pro weight

I pole mount my SLA's with a bottom mount on decent stands and don't have concerns. I do use a tilt adaptor and I'm cautious about how much tilt I use when using the SLA Mini's under the SLA's because they start to get pretty tall.

Re: Kreg screws?

The THT is crazy rigid with 1/2", the complex internal structure provides plenty of bracing. No worries :)

Re: Maximizing pack space and performance, under budget.

I feel like it's been stated more than once that the Lab is not superior to the 3012, just a (formerly) lower cost alternative, but I don't recall the explanation as to why.

SLA's and T39's

Setting up for karaoke, singing by Zain, the audio lead. :) Full and short SLA's as mains, and 2x20" T39's and two slims in front of the stage. Placement wasn't my first choice, but we tried them in the back corner also and got peaks and valleys either way so we went with his placement. I think the ...

Re: SLA center channel bluetooth?

Why would one want to listen to music only on the center channel when there's a whole home theater setup there already? Wireless playback on the receiver, sure...

Re: Voltage and Limiting (New To Forum)

Thanks a million for the feedback gentlemen. Sorry for the late response I was expecting an email notification if a response was entered. Thank you @ CoronoOperator - makes sense 2. I bridged a QSC RMX2450 and with no Speakers connected turned up to 55 Volts. Were the gain knobs on the amp at full,...

Were the gain knobs on the amp at full, or only high enough to read 55 volts on the meter?

Re: Drivers to Match 4ohm Lab15’s

I remember differing phase response between different (similar) drivers being mentioned as an issue. (specifically between the Eminence and Dayton drivers in an SLA pro) Is this an issue in a sub? Or are the waves long enough that minor differences aren't important?

Re: Retrofit J15 melded array

I've built J15's with the array, and I feel like adding the array should be easy. Adding the pole mount may be a challenge though, doesn't it go through some internals that have to be sealed around it?

Re: Question about T39 Handle - urgent :)

Those inner boxes would be taking a chunk out of boards that make up the horn path at a variety of angles on the inside, that sounds like a ton of work...and as noted before, any small leaks would really hurt you.

Re: Help with THT on Yamaha Receiver

You probably need to go through setup on the receiver. Were you using an external sub before?

If not, it's probably sending bass to the mains.

Re: Question about Titan48 spl chart

I wonder if cooling my magnets with liquid nitrogen will give me crisper highs?

...I'm not going to ask about the sonic effects of adding a crisper drawer to a T48, but as long as one is adding active cooling anyways...

Re: Building my first Titan 48 w/Lab15 (single)

So set the LPF from 40Hz-120Hz? Learning every day High pass (ie block everything below this point) at 40 --and-- Low pass (block everything above this) ...usually 100hz or so. (no harm to subs if you take this too high but is starts getting in to territory your mains should be doing if you get too...

Re: Building my first Titan 48 w/Lab15 (single)

Leak test performed: Yes. One was found where the speaker tape had a small gap and was fixed....she is tight and braced very well. Corner Load Distance: 18" (I honestly don't know what the correct distance should be) LPF was started at 100Hz and rolled off completely at 130Hz HPF is set rolls up fr...

Re: newbie-ish plywood question

I think I got two t39 slims out of three 5x5 sheets, if I remember right? Definitely use cutlist to check that. That sounds nice and efficient. How wide? Actually no, I did the slims at different times so I don't have an exact number. (they were 15" wide, the minimum width for a 12" driver T39) The...
