Re: T-18 Build Quick Pics

Looks great! How does it sound? In the house where I built it, it could rattle every window in the house (single story, 8’ ceilings, 1800 sf). And all from an 8” driver. Where I am now, much bigger place and 2-story, there are definitely nulls which means I need to build at LEAST one more. :D In a ...

After all surfaces to be veneered were sanded flat and smooth, the Sapele veneer was cut a little oversize. The veneer has a heavy paper backing which is easier to apply. It's real important to test and make sure that the sub is properly leak tested and working before the veneering process.

T-18 Build Quick Pics

Built this T-18 a while ago and had intended to post the build, but didn't get around to it. Have moved since then and found these pics of the build and wanted to finally post them. There were more details but these were all I could find.

Re: Journey - Tuba 45 Build

Yeah, I know all about IP. Both from the owning side and the management side of it. I just can't believe I let my excitement cloud my attention to detail and let it slip. More a "DOH, I can't believe I did that!" moment. A couple of more details, I'm building them with Lab-12c's. These are...

Journey - Tuba 45 Build

I'm gonna try this a second time. I did a big bad boo-boo. I tried to start a thread on my new Tuba 45 build. And I included pictures. But in all my enthusiasm, I did the no-no of putting a couple of pictures with dimensions in them, clear as day. :cop: So my first attempt at this thread was deleted...

Re: Journey - DR200 Build

Thanks miked! The circular saw cutting guide jig is pretty easy to make if you've got access to aluminum material. The base is made of 1/4" thick aluminum stock and the reference fence is aluminum U-Channel that is 1-1/2" wide by 3/4" tall. With the fence, make sure your circular saw ...

Re: Journey - DR200 Build

(Cont.) Before attaching the sides, I wanted to prepaint the insides of the horn. I masked off the areas I wanted. My flatbed provided a perfect height platform for painting. I first sprayed a primer coat followed by 3 coats of satin black. photo178.JPG The inside of the horns of the cab painted. ph...

Re: Journey - DR200 Build

(Cont.) I'm attaching carry handles for the DR200's. I was going to just cut a mounting hole and then use speaker gasket tape to seal it off. But the inset for the handle is shallower than the thickness of the BB, so I decided to route a recess instead, to maintain the seal. Referenced the front top...

Re: Journey - DR200 Build

(Cont.) Instead of using my tablesaw, I decided to use my circular saw and cut-off guide jig that I made for breaking down sheets of plywood. It's pretty heavy duty as it's made of 1/4" aluminum. It's also much quicker to set up and cut with the reference lines. photo162.JPG This Makita circula...

(Cont.) While the PL on the curved backs was curing, I finished the paint work on the HF module. photo148.JPG Now with the PL cured it was time to remove the straps and clamps. I did take a picture with everything initially off, but I must have lost it. Can't find it. Sorry about that. photo149.JPG ...
