Re: Should I reorient my THTLPs?
for the record in my 10 x 10-ish man cave- it's too small for them to breathe well < 900 cu. ft. they were rather fabulous about 9 years ago in the LR > 5K vol. but now the 2 x30' cabs are directly behind the seating just enough room between my seat and the wall pointed at the ceiling- eq'd as one s...

Re: New THT owner
@DaveMacKay
THTLP's I built 3 this 24" and a pair of 30's
they now run on a minidsp 2x4 with BASH 300 amps and they are impressive, even in a 100 sq ft. mancave
but they really want more room to "breathe" hard

Re: Anikun's THT LS Build
wrt to pointing up trying to follow the plans, and the loading spec of 18 inches, and for easy of movement/placement I bough 2 of the smaller furniture moving dollys from Harbor Freight, reconfigured them together for width and length and then added a bit of plywood on top to get the mouth a bit clo...

Re: New Build (first question!)
last year I built 3 BF THTLP's from plans. I had never built anything like them before. I know (from the hands on) that these plans are absolutely fantastic from the expert acoustical properties/performance and to the structural cleverness that makes the unit as strong and self bracing to put up wit...

Re: THTLP build -first DIY ever . . .
part 2 . . . Immediately after hearing my first 24" build . . . It took the better of 8 intensive very hot weeks to complete the 2 30" THTLP's. For starters they went 2 feet behind the MLP, regular couch, 13 feet from front wall. in a 15' wide room so each mouth is 18" into a wall but...

Re: First THTLP - First Bill F. project
I too have the BASH 300's but I would not put them in anything not as totally open as possible for ventilation purposes. Behind my MITSY 73" I put up 3 rowsof open wire closet shelving that holds stuff, but you can't see it. That's where I expect to put the 1124p, the 300's . Then I'll run 16 g...

Re: Hello from Central New Jersey
"Where are you now ? Somerset is about 30-40 minutes from me." I'm in So. Cal. same house and neighbor for 35 years. He was my "senior tech advisor" for that build but he's a bit busy while I multi-task on these next 2. Kinda a shame as I really wanted to get his panel saw into m...

Re: Hello from Central New Jersey
WELCOME! I grew up in Somerset County . Haven't been back since '77. Re: THTLP build -first DIY ever . . .
The THTLP in the mancave is a "roaring" success but other family issues have intervened and testing with REW has been forestalled , HOWEVER, and I am led to believe I'll get an "enlightening" amount of input . . . 2 THTLP's at 29.5 wide will give me mouth area of 1062 sq. in. 4 u...

Re: First THTLP - First Bill F. project
the holes I drilled for speaker mounting had some ' breakout ' on the back side of the spacing ring So I filled it in with some good bonding floor patch, sanded it smooth and then sealed the surface uniformly with a thin but generous layer of PL applied with a finger. slick and flat. I had to used a...
