Re: RTA Questions

Our hearing is subject to Equal Loudness, but a microphone isn't. Hummm, I have been blasting pink noise at full volume and making quite a nuisance of myself for far too long (as I thought it was more accurate). HaHaHa!!! I am still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that a microphone is not af...

Re: RTA Questions

The DEQ will tell you if the pink noise level isn't loud enough to overcome ambient noise. I don't agree that you need to RTA to the same level as which you will play. Otherwise you couldn't turn up (or down) as that would infer your EQ would be out... You definitely need to be close to the same vo...

Re: RTA Questions

The Behringer manual is lacking in details on how to properly start the RTA process. Luckily I had experience with other RTA's, but I also found a very helpfull pictorial guide somewhere on the internet that made learning the DEQ process a little easier. The description is geared towards home audio,...

Re: Digital mixer opinions?

What I am going to suggest might sound strange at first, but it is working very well for what I need it for. If you have a limited number of inputs, it may work for you too. I recently bought a PreSonus Audiobox 1818VSL, check it out at: http://www.presonus.com/products/AudioBox-1818VSL Although it ...

Re: Pocket Hole Jigs

The companies website has a feature in the top right hand corner to choose a language, as they ship internationally. Check it out: kregtool.com I have also seen some good deals on ebay, but the shipping could be steep to Sweden. The Kreg I borrowed was the full size model - I think was called the K4...

Re: GTD amps

I bought one of the GTD Audio T-4500's for my kids when the price was $139. Hey, it looks like a QSC if you squint your eyes real tight! As far as voltage goes, they put out 53 volts AC (350w @ 8 ohms / 700w @ 4 ohms / 1400w @ 2 ohms) per channel when maxed out. The PEAK light comes on at 40 volts A...

Re: Pocket Hole Jigs

I borrowed one of the Kreg Jigs from a friend a while back and it was very useful. It wasn't a speaker building project, but you could definitely put one to good use for that purpose. I am contemplating buying one for myself. I got some screws from Lowe's that I used with it, I think these were the ...

Re: Cheap track saw on sale today only

The blade is labeled Scheppach and is 6 1/4" diameter with a standard 5/8" arbor hole. The 6 1/4" diameter is a bit of an odd size - I am not sure if I could substitute a more common 6 1/2" size. Since this saw appears to be the same product that Grizzly has relabeled as their ow...

Re: Another track saw option

Woot recently had the Scheppach plunge saw on sale with two 25" tracks for only $119. The price was so good that I figured it was worth the gamble and bought one for myself and one for my father. As far as I can tell, the Scheppach, WoodStar, and Grizzly are the same saw, with just different tr...

Re: Cheap track saw on sale today only

The saws arrived and I had a chance to test them out last night. I did a few test cuts, and then used them to rip some sheathing for a construction project I am doing. After those cuts all went well I used in parts for a speaker cabinet I have under construction. After I had ordered it I saw in the ...

Re: Cheap track saw on sale today only

I have been looking at track saws for a while and that deal gave me the push to finally buy one. The Festool is way too expensive for my non-professional use, so I have been looking for the best deal on one of the imitations for my speaker cabinet building and home construction / remodeling projects...

Re: Cheap track saw on sale today only

Hey, thanks for the tip. I bought two of them this morning, one for myself and one for a Fathers Day present for my father. That way I can borrow his guide rails when I need to rip full 8' sheets. I have a big table saw with an extension already, but the wife is not a willing carpentry assistant whe...

Re: Behringer iNuke 1000DSP

I have had one of the iNuke 3000DSP's for a while and I am pretty happy with it. Right now I am using it with a super-portable mini PA, and the light weigh and built-in DSP makes it a perfect match. I highly recommend these amps for DJ's or small ensembles that don't want to lug a rack of gear aroun...
