Re: prime before Line-X bedliner?

Line X is awesome. I've spent hundreds of dollars on Duratex over the years that I wish I could have back. I'm currently in the process of having my whole rig Line Xed a piece at a time. My local Line X guy told me to sand down my previous paint as much as possible, and fill any holes larger than 1/...

Re: Reggae bass guitar, what should I build?

 hehe...I was editing mine as you wrote.

Even for practice I'd think you'd want something more than a 1X10! At least I would.

Re: Reggae bass guitar, what should I build?

What kind of reggae bassist wants a 1X10 speaker??!! What kind of dibbly sound you going for?? Is this a bluegrass/reggae band? My brother plays bass in a reggae band. My bro tried a Omni 2X10, a OmniTop 2X12, and an original (not tall boy) Omni 15. Sorry to say that none of these options prod...

Re: DR300/T36 System

Interesting about the bass box stacking. I think you have read the whitepaper on Void Acoustic''s (Mogal) site about long arrays of subs and the results if you delay the outermost boxes in the line to help counteract some of the phase issues? Its an interesting idea/experiment, and one I've not had ...

Re: DR300/T36 System

Looking good, Alan. Now, how much is it gonna cost to get that entire rig to Black Rock this year? I would be interested to hear a bit more about your bass issues running the Tubas in a row? I 'sometimes' feel (my opinion is constantly changing!) that I'm losing response doing that exact same thing....

Holy crap, I had no idea. How do you keep the avalanches from burying your gig. Shocked Christian wins for most cabs in a small space.
<------passes trophy to Mud. That is a whole rack of sound in a small space! Nice one!

I hope you do turn it up every now and again!

I would gladly pay an extra dollar per tweet for a little consistency.

Sounds like a simple music test is all I need. I had no idea the response varied so much. Wish I had tested all my other arrays....ah well.

thanks.

testing piezos

Someone care to lay out their testing methodology for peizos?

Do you just hook 'em up to see if they work or actually measure the response or what? Will a damaged or faulty piezo be obvious to the naked ear or do I need yet another piece of equipment.

thanks.

Since we're gonna run a 4-pack, 200 watts is plenty for the testing portion of the evening.

Does "unloading" mean that the horn component of the design no longer functions below 22hz?

sub bass safety.

I would like to safely use my T36 to reproduce 20hz (and below) content. Generally I high pass at 30hz, but I have an occasion coming up that requires extra bass depth. Plus I'm just curious... We're gonna run a bunch of test tones and sweeps before the show, and I want the T36 to shine. I'm plannin...

hey Alanstar. Yeah I'm there every year. We're part of a big theme camp, of which I provide the sound. I don't take any pictures - don't even own a camera - but I will search some more out from friends and what not. The BFMs are truly the perfect solution out there. The drivers are completely protec...

Black Rock City review

Here's an unsolicited review from a DJ/producer who played my system this year at Black Rock City. This guy plays some of the larger sound domes that are running big line array rigs....but he is now a BFM fan! http://people.tribe.net/novatron/photos/21949760-b6a7-42d7-937b-e3fa9b000dfe I had several...

I even have a cut off allen key that I use in my battery drill ( slow speed ) which saves a huge amount of time - real important that glue dab! I did the exact same thing! In my humble opinion, that is an excellent tip! I hate manually driving anything (other than the GF... :P ) You can even buy al...

I've been thinking of building one (or several) of those...

I'm curious - Is there a difference you can hear, feel, or see between the double 12 vs. the single 15?

What width did you build...the 26 minimum or the full 36?
