Re: Excessive ads on the mobile site (this post contains large images)
I run a rasberry pi box on my network as a network wide blocker running PiHole software. Only works at home (or if you run your mobile through your VPN) but it is quick and easy to set up and should be less than $40. https://pi-hole.net/ https://lifehacker.com/create-a-network-wide-ad-blocker-with-a...

Re: Inexpensive setup?
"...seeing a sub that is almost as big as a person it impressive, and worth the size or weight i think." Close, but not accurate. More like a sub the size of a refrigerator. Seriously, build a cardboard box the size of a t60 and make sure you can live with losing that much space. You can ...

Re: Table Tuba powering
I run a modified table tuba long style with an MCM 8" powered off of a 100w plate amp and it shakes the windows with the gain at 50%. I plan on building another just to cancel out some of the dead spots but it's more than enough bass for most things. Eventually will build and swap out for a THT...

Re: New BFM Folded Horn?
Looks like the horn path isn't nearly long enough. Someone emulated the Cerwin Vega horns. I wonder if it does amplify the sound at all though.

Re: Curved SLA build
What is the effect of too high Qts? Boomy midbass. Having used the linked to speakers I can't say that I hear a boomy bass. But, not having heard the recommended speakers I can't compare. The ones I used sound very good and I've had zero problems. I love the sound. I stuffed them very full full wit...

Re: 4 THT's
I have wonder how many "blown drivers" may have been in part due to pressure build up in the chamber when operated at high power/high temperatures? The venting on the voice coil assembly turns it into quite a good air heater for the air space behind the driver. Are we building with materi...

Re: squeeze out - PL
After punching a few more holes in it and wrapping more tape it seems to be much better. I'm still using too much glue but I'd rather buy a new tube at $4.50 vs not having everything air tight.

Re: squeeze out - PL
Have you wrapped the tube with tape, and, made several punctures through the skin past the nozzle? I have NO idea what this means. Wrapped around it circumferentially? Or end to end, to hold in the plug? If circumferentially, wouldn't this only serve to INCREASE the pressure and push the plug out m...

I didn't, thanks for the reminder.
Haven't heard or seen this. Are you talking about inside the nozzle, the barrier that you pop?Tom Smit wrote:and, made several punctures through the skin past the nozzle?

This stuff really continues to ooze doesn't it? I pulled the plunger out to release the pressure at least 6" from the end of the run and it still oozed out all over the place. Ended up putting a screw in the tip to plug it and left it tip down in a corner with wax paper under it. I think I coul...

Re: Bassiest songs you've put through your BFM system?
However, I do lament the death of music. When I was playing in bands in high school, we were playing 70s rock (well, it was the 70s). And guess what? All the kid bands are still playing 70s rock. That tells me that there just hasn't been anything worth learning and performing for a long time. And t...

Re: How many different designs have you built?
I've finished one, have purchased speakers and parts for TLAH (2), a THTLP, a truck tuba, and an SLA pro that strayed from the plans.
All are in various stages of being built.
I wish I would have bought the entire CD instead of buying 6 separate plans.
