Re: Y-Splitters instead of a mixer
Yes mate! My next door neighbours son has a friend who is organising events on a family farm, this is her first one. It's essentially what we call a "Bush Doof", audience is capped at 200. Taking the DR280s & 4xT48s plus the SLAPs. It's paid, we agreed on $1000, which is quite cheap, I...

Re: Y-Splitters instead of a mixer
I know that most of 'em love the color red and try their best to get every light in the signal chain to be that color. You got it, yep! I'd definitely hard limit the FOH and the monitors. And make it clear that anyone who pushes their mixer into the red will be shut down - right then. No reason to ...

Re: Y-Splitters instead of a mixer
Explain exactly what you are using the Y splitters for? Originally the splitters would connect directly into the XLR Master Out of the Pioneer XDJ-XZ, XDJ-RX2 or DDJ1000, one XLR lead to the monitor system input (DCX2496/FBQ3102HD/600wx2 Amp), and the second XLR lead to the FOH system (PA2/CVR-D200...

Y-Splitters instead of a mixer
Good morning legends, I'm aiming to simplify a FOH plus DJ monitor setup. Originally l was going to use a 4 channel mixer (Xenyx802) for signals to the DSPs. However l'm now entertaining using Y-splitters from the DJ decks to the DSP & amps, and using input gain controls in the DCX2496 and FBQ31...

Re: Noise from DIY Amp
Moving on to amp no.2... the first thing done was removing the mounting post screw, which indicated the earth from 1 amp module
And the noise is GONE! Just the normal, very slight and acceptable buzz remains.
Thanks very much Bill!

Re: Noise from DIY Amp
When there's more than one path to ground on the inputs a ground loop can cause noise. Since the amps appear to be chassis grounded via the power supply the input wires should not be grounded at both ends of the input wires. Bill, would this apply to an amp with balanced input signals? Because l ha...

Re: Noise from DIY Amp
It could be a ground problem... Right.. l removed the amp mounting screws which had the ground symbol 20251006_084041.jpg And lifted the ground on the power supply, which cut the noise in half, sweet! It was still annoying me though, so l reconnected the grounds and checked the voltage out of the p...

Noise from DIY Amp
G'day gents, An amp l threw together has always had a slight noise once both inputs are connected to the DSP, it sounds like a mosquito. With one input plugged in, its silent, with both, that's when you can hear it. Used with the DR280s, the noise is just noticeable, however l plugged SLAPs in yeste...

Re: Sb audience 15 inch nero subwoofer in titan 48
I feel the Nero's better suited to the T60, and the Rosso for the T48, for the weight and Fs. It will go in and work though, with chamber reducers. Be aware many of the SB Audience range are dimensionally slightly larger than standard sizes, like BCD, OD and baffle cut-out. Fine for a new build, but...

Re: All the gear, and no idea
After contacting a couple of local DJ companies, they've suggested a Brisbane DJ Facebook page, which looks like a good place to start promoting. Before l do though.. questions! -Pricing, how do l charge? By the day, the hour? It was suggested this system could be charged at $1500 (excluding tax) a ...

All the gear, and no idea
G'day lads, I hope you guys are doing well :) After building a sound system as a hobby interest in my spare time, I'd like to take it out into the scene and let it rip! Which at the moment is proving a little harder to make contact with the right people. Whilst building the system, a few people ment...
