Re: 4 Dr280's with compression drivers coming up..
Been dying to try the compression driver option for a long time.. It will be interesting to hear your assessment. I've found the CDs to be, for lack of a better term, smoother. Don't know if it's the lower crossover point than the piezos or what - but there is a difference in the high-mids. I'm cur...

Re: At it again!! Night club number 2 sporting a BFM rig!
You guys know me to well lol.. Ive since re-cut these parts with some modification to expedite these.. I basically dado all the mating surfaces and increased the size of the cleats to help hold the little pieces straight and square while tacking together with brad nailer. Now I can get the brad nai...

Re: At it again!! Night club number 2 sporting a BFM rig!
Hey Bob, I found this the other day and thought about your shop when I saw it: https://www.buildyourcnc.com/item/cnc-machine-greenLean-v1 The only disadvantages I see right off are 1.)The necessity to add tabs to the work or come up with a low profile vacuum table and 2.) It's only 4x8. 5x8 or 5x10...

Re: At it again!! Night club number 2 sporting a BFM rig!
Bob- do you have any "special events" scheduled? What nights are really popping- Fri and Sat I assume. Any big headliners planned this year? (It's a semi cross country drive for me, so that's why all the questions.) Hi Rich, we always have big events but you should probably check our webs...

However, Bill is just as likely to be happy selling world-class designs for a handsome reward to the machine that is Pro Audio consumerisim, which enables him to sell us mere mortals superior designs for the price of a weeks worth of Espresso's! I imagine Bill as 'The Pro Audio Philanthropist' for ...

Re: At it again!! Night club number 2 sporting a BFM rig!
So I didnt get much done today.. I did however make this assembly jig for the compression driver horn module faces to help make these consistent in size and reduce sanding time. This spreads them apart right at the perfect measurement to match the horn and hold the pieces while fastening them togeth...

Re: At it again!! Night club number 2 sporting a BFM rig!
There is so much geekery on this board it's amusing. oh Im such a closet geek.. I love this shit lol.. Beautiful as usual...I'm so jealous. I'm sure i don't want to know, but that CNC rig had to be 15/20k? Oh well, even if it was 5k my wife would kill me. Keep up the great work, and thread! Thanks ...

Re: At it again!! Night club number 2 sporting a BFM rig!
So do you have a bit changer or are cutting the angles by hand? I gotta tell you this is killing me. No Leland I cut with straight up or down cut bits only.. The cnc parts are cut to exact size then I just run the part against a sacrificial fence with the blade buried into it at the appropriate ang...

Re: At it again!! Night club number 2 sporting a BFM rig!
So reworking the CNC software to allow for dados has proven to be a good decision.. I can now assemble perfect compression driver modules in about 10 minutes! That's astounding, both time wise and result wise  Thanks Grant... I'm really having fun with this.. With about 20-30 more cab to be b...
