Re: Floorstanding TLAH's - 9 driver rear mount

I think there are some negatives to rear mounting the speakers and its better to front mount but whether you can tell the difference in real life I don't know. The oak in front of the drivers is 15mm thick and I believe the 9mm radius cutter helps to reduce the negative affect of rear mounting whils...

Not too bad finish but not flat. In the end I faced off in the CNC - something I should have done to start

I'm lucky enough to own a CNC mill, so I machined a test baffle with inset/subflush drivers

Floorstanding TLAH's - 9 driver rear mount

Hi Guys,

I made my Dad a set of TLAH's for Christmas so thought I'd post some photos.

I'll add more details soon but for now here are some photos of the build.

Re: First Build - A Single JBL 804 16" AutoTuba

Hello again, So I decided to buy the jbl gto 3501 amp that was recommended as it seemed pretty good, especially as it has the hpf. It has arrived and I'm getting it set up but I had a quick question I was hoping someone can help me with. My HU has a stereo L+R RCA out and the new jbl amp has a stere...

Re: First Build - A Single JBL 804 16" AutoTuba

Happy Days people, the AT is now finished, well from a functional point of view at least. I am not sure if this is good or bad, as I don't want to spend time working on it to finish it off when I could be listening to it :D :hyper: The comment I made about the gasket came back to bite me I'm glad l ...

BOWLINE! Haha, took me ages to figure out what you meant by this. You'd never have guessed I was a scout once. It's just one of those things you don't forget. Nice. The gasket looks good The JBL gasket is fine by itself in my builds Hmm two contradicting comments. Figure I will leave it for now and...

Re: First Build - A Single JBL 804 16" AutoTuba

Hello again, Good news, haven't been banned from the forum :D So the second set of T-nut's I ordered finally arrived last week and I have been cracking on with the build. The first lot I ordered on the 25th arrived today  Wouldn't really call that first class. So I haven't really come across ...

What is this?!?! :loler: :loler: :loler:  I kinda expected this type of reply, glad it made you smile. It doesn't actually sound too bad. Put it this way I haven't removed the speaker and put it back in the original enclosure yet. its probably the worst material you could build one from Too tr...

Mini AT 9" Continued. Panels 2, 3 and 4 fixed in place. 20130131_205453.jpg Note the masking tape used to help improve the seal between panels. Also a stronger joint is achieved by taping each edge of a panel before fitting. First brace going in. In hindsight I should have used 2 braces to furt...

Re: First Build - A Single JBL 804 16" AutoTuba

Hello again, Gregory, I hope this Birch is the right stuff as I paid enough for it to be the premium quality version. I think looking at the couple of comments its the correct stuff, it has 9 layers of equal thickness as Bill recommends. Also I have yet to find any voids and the few plugs on one of ...
