Re: 23 Gauge Pin Nailer Instead of Brads on Jack 12L Build

I also use my pin nailer all the time. My main use is to keep parts from shifting as I apply clamps. If a clamp is slightly misaligned, the slippery PL acts like grease and the parts can creep out of alignment. If I tighten the clamps too much, it can cause an assembly or panel to bow or twist. The ...

Re: Track Saw Shootout

Some more info about the plunge issue: The Festool TS55 is a plunge saw, as opposed to the traditional circular with the retractable blade guard. Yes, you can make some cute cuts using the plunge action (especially since you can set stops on the track to precisely control the start/stop), but the pl...

Re: Track Saw Shootout

Aiden, The Festool TS55 does a fantastic job on straight and bevel cuts. You do need to remove the outer splinter guard for bevel cuts, but that takes all of 5 seconds. New Build - Pair of T39x24"

Well, this actually belongs in the "Almost Built and Now I Wish I had Taken More Pictures" section, but I couldn't find that in the index... Here are some pics of my in progress T39 build, just prior to putting on the second side. 1 - Just prior to attaching the second side: http://i1352.p...

Re: The Germans must be reading Bill's plans

Just note that the TS75 is quite a bit larger and especially heavier than the TS55. There have been a number of TS75 purchasers who had a little bit of "buyers remorse" using the heavier saw to primarily cut sheet goods. I see them on the forums selling their TS75s to purchase the more nim...

Re: Decent 1/2 plywood

Preparing for my first build, a pair of T39s. Many thanks to Mr. Hertz for the tips on ordering 15/32 AC Arauco from Lowes. Located the "Pro Desk" at my local Lowes in Lynchburg, VA (unmarked closet of a room in the back of the store) (at least I didn't need a password to get in). They wer...
