Re: Low power spl bass setup in truck

What kind of finish are you gonna use? I've used arauco ply to make record crates and after staining it made the grain raise up and very rough feeling. I can only imagine dragging your arm over it while driving down the road.

Re: Djay from France ;)

Can the sub be disguised as an end-table or other piece of furniture? A Truck Tuba might fit under a couch (but I already know what others are gonna say...)

Re: Low power spl bass setup in truck

How obvious is it that the ID of the foam gasket on top of the driver is almost exactly the same dimension as the needed cutout for conventional mounting? Well I had no idea anyway! I wanted the baffle hole to fit pretty darn close to the gasket and ensure no surround rub doesn’t everyone? Ah now I...

Re: Finally Starting the Theater Build

Started the wiring yesterday. That’s a time consuming process. I was originally going to use spade connectors. However, after doing the first line of tweets, I think I am going to pull them and just solder them all. Those tweeter tabs just don’t stay straight when trying to put the terminals on the...

Re: Low power spl bass setup in truck

Does anyone have an accurate dimension for cutting the driver baffle hole for a dcs-255 10” driver. I am hoping to build on my cabs now but will not be funding my drivers for a bit. I pulled the specs of the driver: total OD, conventional cutout spec and mounting hole dimensions however looking ove...

Re: Finally Starting the Theater Build

Just a soldering tip: I pre-tin my iron and wire before I soldering them together. Makes for a faster, easier, and rock solid connection.

There's tons of videos online to learn from. You'll be a pro by the time you've finished wiring all those SLA's

I have an old late 90s alpine headunit that has the basic dsp function.
I've never heard better sound in a car then when I had my alpine cda-9815. RIP

Re: BFM Hit List...

When I'm outside setting up and testing sound I like to play Jerry Garcia - "Sugaree" and "Dear Prudence", as that's my go to for clarity and fullness. Plus, I've listened to those 2 songs enough that I'll know when something is off or missing in my setup. edit: I know eveyone's gonna ask "Which one...

I got a cheap one on amazon for templates only. But I can see where a small lip might be nice for veneer or stuff.

What Bruce said. You're building 3 enclosures to make 1. Interesting idea, though.

Re: Tuba weights?

Maybe you could share some search tips. If I search this forum for threads with "weight" in the title, I get one result. If I look for threads with "weight" in any part of the thread, I get 59 irrelevant results. Not much luck with google, either. Maybe I'm retarded, maybe it's maybelline. I feel l...
