Re: end-fire sub config with T39's

I don’t have a good meter, just an iPhone. Levels in the front was normal, as expected for 4 cabs. I’m sure 4 V-plates would be louder, but my goal was to see if I could minimize stage volume. We run e-drums, guitars direct with modelers, and IEMs, so it can be annoying to have lots of low end onsta...

end-fire sub config with T39's

Had a chance to setup my rig in a big old gymnasium and experiment with an end-fire configuration. I used 2 pairs of T39s in a V layout and a DriveRack to delay the front pair. I tried 3 different configurations: FREQ, DELAY, DISTANCE @75Hz, 3.24ms, 1.1m = 3’ 7” @60Hz, 4.12ms, 1.4m = 4’ 7” @50Hz, 4....

Re: Tilting SLA's

I’m interested to know what you come up with. I’ve been stacking (2) 4x6 SLAP’s on either side, with as much as a 90 degree spiral(?) to cover the far sides of the stage outdoors. I Stack them on a speaker pole but it is wobbly, so I tie the tops to the lights stand. 😑 It looks silly but nobody gets...

Re: SLA Crowd Size specs?

Curious how this gig went?
I usually run four T-39’s with a pair of 4x6 SLAP’s. The SLAP’s will cover 350 people easily if mounted high enough.

Looking for Titan sub rental near Indy/St. Louis/Chicago/Cincy/Louisville

My band has a show on 3/17 at an old theatre in Terre Haute, IN. We've played there before, and my (4) T-39's were barely sufficient. We're expecting a much larger crowd this time, so I'm looking for additional Titan subs to rent for that event. Don't have the time to build 4 more. Local rental choi...

Re: Low cost Class D pro plate amps.

Enjoying the discussion so far! I was toying with the idea of a plate amp recently for my subs. I picked up a salvaged plate amp from a JBL SRX815P cabinet a few months ago for $50. I estimated that I could run up to (4) T39's off of it, but I can't install it in any of my current cabs. So, if I bui...

Re: 2 small amps or one big one?

I used a single 4 pole SpeakOn cable to drive 2 pair of T39's. Requires 2 plugs in each cabinet, an IN and OUT.

Re: Standard rate for soundman/PA?

You're going to need a helper all day and all night... that's on top of the rental price. I'll be camping by the stage, no amps or mics left on the stage, and I can even put the cabs and amp rack back in the trailer for the night. I'll also have one or two of my sons with me to help. I bet that big...

Standard rate for soundman/PA?

My band is playing at a festival on a Saturday night in Sept, and the organizers have asked if I could run sound all weekend: noon-9pm on Friday, noon-9pm on Saturday. My band plays 6pm-9pm on Sat, and another band plays 6pm-9pm on Friday, and I'll run sound for them. The noon-6pm would just be pre-...

Mackie has some nice 16 channel mixers, and used ones are easy to find.
