Re: DR300 response

You might wanna put a piece of masking tape or use some other method of identifying the cab you test so you're able to identify and use it as reference in testing all the other cabs for uniform polarity among the herd in the future  Thanks for taking the time for that! I will try to spend...

Re: DR300 response

simply having the mid's and highs out of phase. I'm sure it's something you've looked into, but it's worth revisiting and starting with basics. it looks as though you had your system setup incorrectly from the get-go That's pretty irrelevant, I said during measurements I was muting the other driver...

Re: DR300 response

- What specific frequency was the high pass on the NSD's set for? - What slope? - Bessel, Linkwitz-Riley, Butterworth? When you say "they still roll off around 2k", do you mean they start to roll off on a measured chart or is it something you hear? I was measuring this with SMAART, on axi...

When I am measuring the HF with mids muted I have the crossover lower than that and they still roll off around 2k .

I will play around some more next time I have the chance and take some screen shots.

DR300 response

We built 6x DR300s a few years ago, with Eminence Impero 12s and NSD 2005 drivers - BI-AMPED. For the longest time I would just let the Driverack PA2 do its autoEQ - and not think much of it because I don't have a space or my own to do any tuning, and there's usually not enough time before gigs to t...

5000vz on 6x Impero 12s

As per subject... Would this be adequate? We'd be running our 6x DR300s with Impero 12s - 3 per side in parallel on each channel of a 5000vz.

Re: Montreal Bassix soundsystem update and our diy CNC

We're hoping with the Low Rider we'll be able to slap on a much stronger spindle and have it rip though 1/2 BB in one pass Bad idea. It is much safer, both for the machine and the operator(s), that the spindle makes shallower, multiple cuts. Cutting deeper, removing more material, causes a LOT more...

Re: Montreal Bassix soundsystem update and our diy CNC

Any updates on parts made with the DIY CNC machine? Yes! We're fiiiiiiinally getting to the end of the 4x DR300 build, we haven't had much free time so it had been put on hold. Now we have a deadline, it seems we can only work fast when we have a deadline - we want to get them finished for June 9th...

Re: Montreal Bassix soundsystem update and our diy CNC

Just got our first endmill. Time to refine our CAD/CAM skills. Will keep updated on this, not sure what the CNC capabilities will actually be, might end up just using it for engraving our logo on our cabs, but if we can cut at least some of the smaller and hard to cut pieces we'll be happy. http://i...

Montreal Bassix soundsystem update and our diy CNC

We haven't stopped building although this last year we've been a lot less productive, some of us have been travelling, and the DR300s have taken a whole lot more time to figure out than our 2nd batch of Tuba60s and OT12s. Meanwhile we also built 2x 10" AutoTubas for our van, truck and some ligh...

Re: 4 more T60! next up 6x DR280

The 4 T60s are almost ready to be closed up, we have 2 new drivers ready to be installed and 2 burnt drivers that we will recone this week; we burnt 3 Lab15s back when we only had one T60 amongst a bunch of direct radiating with no limiter. Unfortunately it took us long enough to learn from our mist...

Re: 4 more T60! next up 6x DR280

I know, I was first looking at the bigfoot 4x8 on buildyourcnc.com but I think I would rather invest in a metal-based one - I figure wood can warp over time and loose precision...

Re: 4 more T60! next up 6x DR280

We've been meaning to develop the company and cater to a different clientele though we haven't had the chance to network, actively seek gigs or market our services. We have a fair amount of experience having all worked and still work with other production companies. More gear definitely won't hurt. ...

4 more T60! next up 6x DR280

Building season is upon us :hyper: The 4x T60, 6x OT12 kit was very well received, we've had a busy summer with 2-3 festivals, a teknival and all sorts of gigs around town. http://i.imgur.com/SccMur5.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ZZhoT44.jpg?2 So here we are, very lucky to have easy access to, what seems t...

Re: basement building T60s / Omnitops

Finally moved on to the OTops, it has been such a breeze compared to the T60s, we got all the cuts done in a few hours, assembly started and now we're waiting to receive the drivers to move on. We also came up with a circle jig for the router, seems to work pretty well; we kept a baffle and handle j...
