New drivers on order. Getting them delivered to California. Now we have to get the speakers down there - fun little thousand mile ride. Well, hopefully my son might save his hearing by worrying about blowing his speakers. Of course these speakers are so efficient, he will be wrecking his hearing wit...

I find it very surprising that a driver blew both sides at the same time, while cranking the volume for only a brief period. Moreover, out of 4 drivers per box, it's the exact same one thats problematic. I'd suspect a wiring problem. Also, did you verify every driver's polarity with a 9-volt batter...

We have been listening to the new speakers quite a bit the last couple days and they sound great. They are more efficient than my big old speakers, but it is really hard to tell much difference between the two. Maybe the Davids are a tad bit brighter on top and the very bottom seems to have more pun...

I was a teacher at one point in my journey through life and I always did like to try to impart a little wisdom, even though I was not very good at it. But I have been trained answer questions, so feel free to ask away on anything and I will try to help if I can.

I wish that there was a clean-ish spot in the house to take a decent picture. They are so shiny that all the mess shows up in the reflections.

They are just a bit more efficient than the old speakers. Have not had much chance to do much serious comparative listening yet, but they definitely hold their own on a few quick A-B switches. Base is fantastic, amazing how the 8" woofer pounds compared to a pair of 10"ers in pretty big bo...

Now to listen... Hooked up to an old Denon integrated amp that was around - My nice preamp decided to start acting up on me a few days after I ordered the drivers for this project, so no listening with the good amps. :cry: Also wanted to get the boy something to play CDs on his new stereo, so I got ...
