Re: Anyone have Crown CTS series experience?

We just retired 8 units of CTS1200 and 2000, after 15 years of being on 24/7 they have become too unreliable and the repair bills were getting out of hand.

Most installed amps would have lived a similar service life, so I would say buyer beware on that factor alone.

Re: 4 DR280 and 2 titan48 for a record store/venue!!!

Just stack them on the subs, Blasphemy. The sub placement as it stands is poor. They should be spread wider, and pushed back further, making them tight to the side walls and as close as possible to the rear wall. The only time mains should be stacked above subs is when there are no boundaries, whic...

Just stack them on the subs, won't lose much height in the process.

Re: Plans for Acoustic 361?

Yes that one I already have but it's missing so much information. Like what wood to use, what connections to use, which screws etc. I mean for a start, I don't even know if those are inside or outside measurements. There is enough info there, if you can't fill in the blanks then either you are not ...

Re: Microphones

Lot of choices, but for all-around use on the sources you mentioned, I'd suggest a handful of small diaphragm condensers. They work well for distance miking the choir and for close up work like the piano. If the congregation doesn't need any support and it's just for the Zoom - you might be able to...

Re: Titan 39 Build

I've highpassed bass guitar channels up to 60-70Hz if they are walking over the kick too much. I've seen the electric bass channel high passed at even 80Hz when the FOH engineer wants to have the same tone in the PA as is coming out of the backline. Since most channel strip high pass filters are 12...

Re: Titan 39 Build

Seth, you are absolutely correct about the fundamental. However, the "character" of the bass starts an octave above that. That, and, most of what we hear from a bass amp often never gives a full presentation of the fundamental anyway. Bryan will be safe. SQ-wise, at an HP of 50hz. +1 with...

What happens? Heat?

I guess it really matters what levels you are trying to achieve, at what impedance load, and whether it's continuous or the amp gets a breather once in a while.
I've run XTi4000s at 2ohms for hours with no issues.

Brent I don't understand why you are being so defensive (or seemingly, it's hard to tell on the internet), I'm simply offering my experience as a counter point to yours, no offence intended. but if you can't operate this console then the issue might be operator related. That's a personal jab. I did...

Re: Behringer X32

We're a year into our X32's lifecycle, no quality concerns, sounds great. We've put it on FOH for some "band's that Canadians would probably know" with no complaints, we've used it as a monitor desk on some even bigger shows. I disagree about the interface being clunky; the initial configu...

Check it out closer, it does more than just monitoring over WIFI.

I've not seen it in action myself, but know a few that have. Look foward to being able to control my IT and XTIs from the same interface.

Re: XTI 1000 problem!!!!

We have 11 XTIs in the shop, a handful installed in various venues as well. None of our amps have suffered any failures, one amp that we have installed in a venue is at Crown as we speak. I can't help but laugh at the "gotta stay away from that brand" comments.
