Re: Using a 31 band Eq
OK, thanks! I thought so but just wanted to make sure... Kind of seems counter intuitive to keep the same power/regulation when doubling drivers. Maybe I am just thinking about it too much.. lol... I will be using a GX7 for 4 t-48s (2 per channel) FYI.

Re: Using a 31 band Eq
1) I'm working on figuring out limiting, to keep it under 50v to the Tubas. Does it stay at 50v for 2 Tubas in parallel? It couldn't jump to 100, or most amps wouldn't be able to supply that, right? I have this question as well.. I read my t-48 plans which state "With paralleled drivers or cab...

Re: Speaker Wire
Thanks for all of the replies! Nifty calc Bill!! So it looks like 14g should suffice for all of my needs (power(50 volts max)/length(50ft)). I'm looking at awcwire.com and I can get 250ft for $132... .52/ft for 14/2 is even better than I was expecting!

Speaker Wire
I'll start by saying I did try the search funtion.
What wire is everyone using to make thier own speakon wire?
Where is everyone getting thier bulk 12g at.
What price can I expect (figuring $.75/ft-$1.00/ft?)

Re: Second Guessing Amp Choice for T48's
Ok stupid question.. I notice that the IPR 3000 has 1/4" thru inputs for linking amps and the GX7 has none. Is it good practice to just Y off the XLR to get multiple sub amp inputs? -edit- I just read that the inputs on the GX7 are connected in parallel. So I would be able to XLR in from Driver...

Re: Second Guessing Amp Choice for T48's
Ya, I really don't want to waste money on money for something that I don't need (DSP stuff). With that being said I am also not afraid of spending money where it needs to be spent. If the right amp is going to cost $7-800 vs. the $3-400 I'm ok with that. I figured that the DSP stuff was adding to th...

Second Guessing Amp Choice for T48's
So I was all set on the XTi4002 to run the 4 T48's I am going to build but now I am starting to second guess my choice... I will be running a driverack so a lot of the DSP functions on the XTi will most likely go unused as far as I can tell (at least in my mind). With that being said I am leaning to...

BOH! Just found this after I decided on my rig... also planning on 8 t48's (starting with 4). This just gets me all sorts of excited to get home and start my build in a couple months!!!

I used to see a lot of New Zealand and Australian soldiers where I was at about 6 months ago. Now, not so much... Mainly Polish, German, Korean.

Re: Another Minnesotan but currently in Afghanistan
Ya, I think it is a good start
Time to kill out the last 2 months here with nothing stupid happening
Double bonus of the build is it can occupy some time since I can't play with my new bike as motorcycles don't fair too well in MN during December!!

Another Minnesotan but currently in Afghanistan
Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I have been lurking for some time dreaming up wonderful ideas that my wife thinks are crazy but have finally committed to something after much research and debate (scanning and comparing name brands and costs, yada yada yada)... A little history of myself, been mix...
