Re: My 3D printed Diffraction horn for compression drivers OTOP12
Just a thought... Would printing the melded arrays also as a one piece unit be within reach, perhaps? I can see where that would be very handy. (The driver section would, of course, be a bolt-on sub assembly).

Re: Jack 15 TKOs Peavey
Wow, beautiful work! I am envious. Good looking pro work! A very appropriate selection all the way around too. That cab will let the TKO be all it can be for a bass rig. Sweet! 65 Jazz Bass...too cool. I once had an opportunity to acquire a 61 Jazz Bass and a blond piggyback Bassman (2x12 cab) for $...

Re: Jack 15 TKOs Peavey
Good looking job there! I have been toying with doing a similar project with my old Peavey TNT 130 Bass amp... Put the head in a dedicated box, then build 2 cabinets, one for Bass (that has better lows), and one for Steel Guitar that is lighter than my 3 Peavey Steel amps (aka Mississippi Marshalls!...

Re: Subwoofer maintenance
The problem: Speakers that have the nuts, washers and bolts retaining them, if yours happens to have them... The solution: Make sure there is no oil on the threads of the fasteners. If your fasteners are dry and not oily, skip the rest of this paragraph. It is preferred (but not mandatory) that you ...

Re: What Brand of hand tools to get?
I have quite a few Craftsman top line (Lifetime Warranty), and other reputable brands, Harbor Freight tools as well. The thing I've noticed about the Asian hydraulic jacks, is that after about a year or so, they do not work. Problem...the "oil" evaporates and the reservoir needs to be comp...

Bruce has done everyone a huge favor, and he is spot-on correct. He is the sound of experience speaking. Good job Mr. Weldy! Bass players aren't immune...but a slightly different issue lives with them due to the wave lengths being so long. Being a bass player for over 50 years, and a sound guy just ...

Just my $.02 ... I know this is a little bit like comparing oranges to tangerines, but, the very best room acoustics I ever encountered was in a club that I was playing in. I asked the owner about the walls...he replied that the burlap material on the walls was covering the fiberglass insulation, wh...

Re: Hello from NW Florida!
Bas Gooiker, I don't have any pics available, but if you've ever seen or Googled a Peavey FH-2, it was almost identical, just a few inches taller and a few inches deeper. Now here's a twist that paid off good... when I couldn't corner load, like when playing outdoors in half space, I made a three si...

Re: Hello from NW Florida!
Yes Grant, it was a very large W box, even bigger than the Peavey FH-2, but it only had a single 15" speaker, weighed 225 lbs, and was truly a handful to move. The Peavey FH-2 came out in about 1983-85 IIRC. The bad part was weight and an ugly "hornish" sounding midrange (HAD to have ...
