Guitar Cabinets?

Ive still not made my O10 yet, but im already looking at another project aswell, im wanting to downsize my guitar rig from using a 4x12 cab to a 2x12 or 1x12. Is there any "better" ways to build a guitar cab than just the typical front loaded type box? How would something like the O12 Top ...

I priced around a bit, and including postage from germany thomann were cheaper than anywhere else i could find in the UK (other than Adam Hall (i think), but i needed to be a buisness to get things ...

The speakon connectors i got dont have any spade connectors tho. Also, i think you would be hard pushed to proove that crimp connectors give a better connection, solder may not be the most conductive material, but when using a crimp, the actual connection area is much much much lower than that of a ...

Just once? At 8 years old, I had to be reminded a few times that the pin is HOT. An 8 year old wants to grab the pin and lift the can right away because it's neato. Ouch. 8? at 21 i still do stupid things like that! This may be heresy to some, but you can also use crimp-on spade lug connectors. The...

I thought it was generally bad practice to wet the iron before touching the joint, as the resulting connection can end up cracked and can readily become a dry joint? Good idea on the hemostats tho, i never thought of using them, ive got a couple pairs kicking about, generally used for other things i...

Soldering to small tab on a socket? (NLJ2MD-V)

Hi, im wondering if anyone has any recommendations on how to solder to a pretty small tab on a neutrik NLJ2MD-V speakon/jack combo socket?

The tabs on these are much much smaller than i was expecting, so im not totally sure how to approach this and know ive got a secure connection.

Cheers

Im not finding anything exactly right, however, farnell have some:

http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/search2/brows ... tid=308220

would two of these in parallel work?

(the only 4ohm one they had was only 3 watts, they also have 4.7 ohm ones that are 20 watts tho)

Ah right, my bad, my physics really isnt up to scratch !

Ill try those other sources, Maplins was a bit of a last resort, i was looking at thier cabinet hardware and then found it all elsewhere for less than half the price!

Wire Wound resistors

Im having a bit of trouble finding a 20 watt 4ohm wire wound resistor. Closest ive found on this side of the pond is 10 watt wire wound resistors, they have 2.2 ohm 10 watt resistors at maplin (well, 2.2R, but, if my memory of electronics serves me right 2.2R is 2.2 ohms?). So would it be possible t...
