Jeez Louise... can you imagine coming in for repairs after a PL-adhered roofing job? Yikes?bzb wrote:I'd still stick with PL Premium, anyway. If it's good enough for Mike Holmes, it's good enough for speaker boxes.

You can go prematurely, and have FART FART CHUFF WHEEZE WHISTLE instead...
Let the adhesive do its work and set properly.

Re: usb sound card
I use the Edirol UA-25 with TrueRTA on my Dell laptop. It will provide +48v phantom power for a measurement mic. Mine is the Superlux equivalent of the Behringer ECM-8000. They all use the same Panasonic capsule, and can use the same mic correction file available on the 'net. The UA-25 has controls ...

Re: Speakerhardware.com
If you are doing CNC, I can see a big labor reduction. Volume, yes. But, one cannot lose money on each sale and make it up in volume. Considering the costs of honest business (liability insurance, et al), I'm surprised you can sell those so cheap. All it takes is for some dipshit in Kaleeforneeyah t...

Re: Dean Markley Guitar Pickup - Buzz Problem
Single coil pickups are notorious for hum. Dunno if they are used here or not. As noted above, a good shielding job will cure a lot of single coil ills, but not all of them. At best, a good copper job will be ugly as hell in a round hole environment. It seems easier to simply stand farther back. &qu...

Re: Dean Markley Guitar Pickup - Buzz Problem
Is the monitor a powered type, by any chance?
A steady-state hum/buzz is not going to originate with passive speakers.
You are hearing power supply interaction, not speaker signal.

Re: Amp suggestions for two Jack 12's and 1, eventually 2 T3
Basic specs are 900 watts into 4 ohms, per channel. This allows you to run two 3012LF in parallel and not run out of amp. This is a QSC PLX-3002 or equivalent. You can get by with half the above, if you are willing to run -3dB down. This is the recommended limit (half power) because almost all of ad...

I can't tell the colors at all.
Mic calibration file is not used.
Unknown input voltage and measurement distance.
OP, please add some more info.

Re: Crown or QSC?
I would clump the qsc rmx, crown xls (d), and the behringer europower lines all in the same reliability standard. Not me. The RMX is indeed built in China, to US engineered specs. This means they have a good design assembled without using low quality, high priced union labor in the US. RMX are work...

Re: Voltage Regulation
With generators, one must look for the constant supply type and avoid the "on demand" models. Those interested in protecting their rack equipment are advised to use a UPS instead. The Smart-UPS series is a stand-by design that switches to battery power when the line sags or surges. You don...

Re: How are your racks setup?
The rack is a good place to start for cooling. The DIY crowd here would have no problem building a rack where an A/C feed could pressurize the rack with cool air. This would also work for computers, not work for consoles such as my VLZ 24.4. From my own experience and watching others, the secret to ...

Re: How are your racks setup?
If SAC has problems with core queuing, then opt for an i5 two-core with turbo boost. Turbo is the hot ticket for blazing performance in single threaded use. This is why the i5-6xx series is so fast on single thread apps. The i5-680 will get up to 3.86 Ghz at stock clocking when single threaded. Comb...

Re: How are your racks setup?
Skip the i5 systems. The Clarkdale process has awful memory performance.
You have to go at least to Lynnfield to get past this.
If you can afford it, the i7-9xx Bloomfield series with QPI bus offers by far the best memory performance.
