I got a 4 pack of 15” t-39’s you could borrow. Or I’d even sell them to you. I’m in MN though.

Re: Two AT's sucessfully drive a block party...

Nice. No video? I'd be interested as there aren't many videos showing AT's in half space or quarter space.

How did the garage door work as a boundary? Id be worried about resonances and vibrations creating unwanted noise, unless it was a thick wood door.

Re: How does loading multiple drivers on a channel affect required voltage limiting?

ok I'm following you there, but the root of my question is that by wiring the drivers into parallel, I drop their overall resistance. In doing so does this change the voltage at which they could be blown out? I'm guessing the answer in now based on your analogy but just want to be sure. Each driver...

Re: QSC PLX 2402

The PLX2402 has plenty of power, don't worry about overloading it. Its 2 ohm stable. Of course don't forget about your limiter.

Re: 6.5" Sub

You could theoretically build a autotuba or T18 using a 6.5" driver like this one: http://www.parts-express.com/tang-band-w6-1139sif-6-1-2-paper-cone-subwoofer-speaker--264-919 Keep everything the same but make it a few inches narrower, maybe 10" wide panels instead of 12-17" or whate...

Re: 1U amp options

Behringer had a nice line of 1u amplifiers, the epq304, epq450, epq900. They seem to have been discontinued but maybe it's possible to find somewhere.

Re: Warehouse party, 6 T30's, 2 OT12's

Ryan A, I know that I'm running the gear too hard if I'm considering things like this but as you can see I'm also out of pack space, so building more cabs isn't an option right now. In computers and general electronics, cooling parts means you can push more power more efficiently through them, whic...

Re: Good video on sub placement

Nice video, very insightful.

Question that I have is since bass is omnidirectional according to physics, how does cardiod and endfire actually control the sound as shown in the depiction?

Another question, has anyone attempted to use one of these setups using BFM cabs?

Re: Warehouse party, 6 T30's, 2 OT12's

My question, re going towards thermal is, were you running all the cabs off one amp? Sure, we measure volts, but as output impedance goes down due to adding cabs, output amperage rises. That increases heat not just in the amp, but also in the drivers... Each individual driver generates the same the...

Re: Warehouse party, 6 T30's, 2 OT12's

I don't particularly wish for thermal failures and am considering our options. A question, is there a way of integrating a liquid cooling system to assist cooling the drivers? Has it been done? If your running close to max voltage you need more cabs or deploy them more efficiently. Once you near ma...

Re: New to speakers

Hello,

Because you have a requirement for EDM, and outdoors, the best sub will be T60, or perhaps T45/T30. Tops maybe a pair of DR200/DR250 or Otop12.

Plan on 4 single subs, or 2 dual loaded subs along with two tops. That should put you on your way. If you need more can always add.

Re: How do you match an amp to a speaker?

Find one that'll do a little more then your speaker's power rating. When it comes time to set it up, you will limit with voltage, and you'll want the voltage limiter to kick in before you amp goes into clipping. An amplifier something like 500 or more watts per channel RMS at 8 Ohms should do the tr...

I'd just paint the mouth in black paint or whatever color. The mouth won't take punishment like the outside will.

I wouldn't water it down unless it says you can...can't remember.

Re: High Pass Filter Test

I don't have a DCX, but all of the processors that I've seen have the limiter last.....it makes the most sense there....you don't want to be able to manipulate the signal once you've set the limit. It doesn't make the most sense there, as it relates specifically to high pass filtering and low frequ...
