Re: autotuba design and position in a 1998 subaru forester?

I have both the AT and TAT. They both sound great in the trunk but they seem to sound best with the horn mouth facing the rear of the vehicle, at least in my car. Also with a clear air path for the sound to travel (back seats folded in a sedan, etc.) As for the LP, there is a tendency to want to cro...

Re: T60 Limit

Not making any assumptions. I hear what I hear. You couldn't convince me the dog I'm looking at is a cat just because you're a veterinarian. Cheers. Respectfully, you are indeed making assumptions. You are assuming that you have heard true content in these frequency ranges, and that you know what i...

Re: T60 Limit

you still hear the 16hz (the fundamental) if you got good ears. The assumption is made that since there's no 32 and 64Hz in the signal then what you hear must be 16Hz. That assumption doesn't account for the basic operating principles of moving diaphragm transducers. If you remove the overlaid 32 a...

Re: T60 Limit

Don't let confusing papers and complicated words dictate your perceptions. This topic got me curious anyway. Try downloading a tone generator like NCH, its free to try. Set it up for 16 hz with a good pair of headphones or ear buds. You can then overlay more sine waves on top of it. Try playing 16, ...

Re: T60 Limit

I can hear 25hz just fine What you're hearing is harmonics of 25Hz... So, just a random thought on this subject... the harmonics you're talking about are overtones, right? 50hz, 75hz, 100hz, etc. If I'm hearing those frequencies and not the 25hz root frequency, I wonder why I cant hear a darn bit o...

Re: T60 Limit

I can hear 25hz just fine If I had a dollar.... What you're hearing is harmonics of 25Hz. To know what you're capable of hearing you need a sine wave generator, a speaker with essentially no harmonic distortion, a Z weighted sound meter and an RTA to see what's present. It just so happens that I ha...

Re: Running Titan 48 in a 4 way system

If you want more kick, raise your t48 low pass frequency to 120-140 hz. Make sure to use a steep LP filter otherwise it will sound too muddy above. 24 or 48 dB/octave. They can produce that kick if you let them.

I got a 4 pack of 15” t-39’s you could borrow. Or I’d even sell them to you. I’m in MN though.

Re: 8" Driver better option for very slim T39?

@Ryan A Do you have an indication off how much the weight of your t39's is? I think I have seen your nice vids on youtube, the very nice white cabs are yours right? I will have to figure out when the accespanel is square which seems to be with a little less then 14" wide. Just because this seems ni...

Re: 8" Driver better option for very slim T39?

Amd for the practical part: Will this JBL GTO804 perform about the same or better then the bp102? I can guarantee the gto804 is more durable than the bp102. Is it more suited to the horn design? Not really; herein lies the dilemma. Also the gto804 is discontinued unless you know of a secret stash s...

Re: Two AT's sucessfully drive a block party...

Nice. No video? I'd be interested as there aren't many videos showing AT's in half space or quarter space.

How did the garage door work as a boundary? Id be worried about resonances and vibrations creating unwanted noise, unless it was a thick wood door.

Re: How does loading multiple drivers on a channel affect required voltage limiting?

ok I'm following you there, but the root of my question is that by wiring the drivers into parallel, I drop their overall resistance. In doing so does this change the voltage at which they could be blown out? I'm guessing the answer in now based on your analogy but just want to be sure. Each driver...

Re: QSC PLX 2402

The PLX2402 has plenty of power, don't worry about overloading it. Its 2 ohm stable. Of course don't forget about your limiter.

Re: 6.5" Sub

You could theoretically build a autotuba or T18 using a 6.5" driver like this one: http://www.parts-express.com/tang-band-w6-1139sif-6-1-2-paper-cone-subwoofer-speaker--264-919 Keep everything the same but make it a few inches narrower, maybe 10" wide panels instead of 12-17" or whatever the plans c...
