Thanks Grant,
Yes, I should have thought W8 for running specs.
If I can get my act together I'll test them out at the May Day march in town and post a review.
(BTW: Closer to the coast than you are, but still west of the range.)
Cheers
Marc

Re: Otop 8
These poor Otop 8's don't seem to have had a lot of uptake. I have some delta 8's and some beta 8's laying around idle and the profile of this build would work quite nicely for a couple of venues & events I have lined up. Hence, I have been collecting parts for a while and am almost ready to sta...

Re: SLA pro or omnitop
I have both SLA Pro and Omnitop 12's. They are used for live bands in in small pubs through to large rooms and outdoors. The bands vary from smaller 3 piece + singer through to loud pub rockers with way too loud multiple marshall quad boxes. For small pub gigs the SLA Pro is my go to top. If the ban...

Re: Australian Options - Suppliers / Drivers etc
Duratex all the way, the texture is fantastic with the proper roller. Still flogging the pants off the AT with the Jaycar 8", it loves it. LOL ..... Yeah, Keryn gave me some Duratex leftovers a while back to compare against Rockhard. I was converted! Hey Keryn, how you goin' down there? Long t...

Re: Australian Options - Suppliers / Drivers etc
Thanks Guys. :D I've left a message for Tanya. I'll also get some prices from Cannonsound for Duratex. I'd prefer the support the local manufacturer, and also I think the Rockhard would be cheaper. :fingers: G'day Nordo, I used Rockhard on my T39's and then changed over to Duratex for subsequent bu...

Re: W8 Flat Array - Gig Tested at last!
The 2*12 is a bass guitar bin I built back in the 80's. It's more like a 2*12 Simplex. Which is what I will most likely end up doing. Pop the baffle out and replace with a Simplex design baffle. Seal the box well from the inside and seal a new back on. It's really more sentimental value than a serio...

W8 Flat Array - Gig Tested at last!
Finally ran my new W8 flat tweeter's at a gig and love them!! These guys are running delta pro 8's. The tweeters are wired all series. Bill's description indicates the flat tweeter set-up is preferred for "small" stages. I have been running a pair of Fane loaded, melded array W8's for a wh...

Re: Need some help with SPL issues
OTOH, are they citing motorcycle riders? At an idle you can expect 100dBC from a Harley at 1 meter. Ahhhhh .... motorcycle riders!! That explains the new VLAD (Viscous Lawless Association Disestablishment) laws in Sunny Queensland, where it's illegal for 3 or more motor cyclists to associate! Noise...

Re: Question on making the V-plate
I use a very poor modification of Bruce's clamps ( 4 holes all up) with some weather strip. The first time I used it I "lost" one clamp in transit so relied on 3 clamps and had people climbing all over the subs. Not having a support leg in the middle of the V 1/2 inch ply V plate I put a W...

Re: Need some help with SPL issues
Turns out the standard liquor license condition, at least in Queensland, is that the maximum noise level is 75db C weighted using "fast" mode, 3 metres or 10 feet from the source. I intially took that as it should be measured that distance from the closed door, or building. G'day Grant, W...

Re: Driverack issue on setting limiter
Yes, I feel like a dumbass and would appreciate everyone telling me so...I deserve it. I spent two hours up and down off the garage floor trying to figure this thing out....and it was my own fault in the first place. Bruce, It only took you 2 hours to figure it out. Took me a few months!!!! I even ...

Re: Playing with Groups Advice
Hey all, How do you tactfully tell other musicians to change what they're playing or just stop all together without being perceived as offensive or that you're trying to boss everybody? Sometimes "why don't you try..." or "why don't we..." does not get the point across. Thanks! ...

G'day Kranku, welcome aboard.
You're in good company. There are quite a few here who have come for the same reason.
