Re: 2x THTLP build after a 10 year hiatus
Both cabs are technically usable, but I learned my lesson in the past about putting unfinished cabs in my living room  I plan to get all of the screw holes patched this weekend and will hopefully get some duratex laid down. Re: 2x THTLP build after a 10 year hiatus
I didn't get much done last night. My 16 year old son had a drumming gig for school that I wanted to watch instead. Sorry, proud dad moment  PXL_20260310_233727236.jpg When I got home, I installed a few of the chamber braces on the second cab before I had to call it quits for the evening. I'm h...

Re: 2x THTLP build after a 10 year hiatus
That's helpful information. I realize now that the plan images did show some scrap pieces for alignment. I suppose the challenge is to get the very first panel perpendicular.. If you follow the plans closely, I'm sure it'll come together just fine! Bill's designs are all pretty forgiving and yes it...

Re: 2x THTLP build after a 10 year hiatus
Looks great. What method are you using to get the "width" panels perpendicular to the side panels? I created right angle jigs with two sheets of plywood, but they are no perfectly 90 degrees. Also, let me know if you ever plan to sell the lab12 drivers...I need another one for the second ...

Re: 2x THTLP build after a 10 year hiatus
You're correct. They are not small. Ha, no doubt about that! I about knocked one off the table trying to rotate it myself on Sunday  ------ I wasn't overly productive last night, but I got the cover flanges installed on both cabs and the chamber braces installed on one cab. Tonight I plan to i...

Thanks a lot! I knew these would be large based on photos of others, but it's crazy to see how big they are in person!DaveMacKay wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2026 8:18 am Makes me wish I had room to add more. You’re doing a great job on the build.

Re: 2x THTLP build after a 10 year hiatus
Looking good. Where are you finding arauco acx? Menards always has it. I'm not sure you have Menards in Texas though. I find this gadget very interesting, thanks for sharing. In regards to finish in the mouth area, are you using Duratex & painting before the side is attached? The CNC is pretty ...

Re: 2x THTLP build after a 10 year hiatus
Good progress so far! So far, so good! Are you sure the structural integrity of the room will be able to withstand 2 of them flexing way down in the hz? I sure hope so! lol I got panel 9 and the 4/9 braces installed on both cabs last night. I forgot how time consuming the braces can be! PXL_2...

2x THTLP build after a 10 year hiatus
It's hard to believe it's been nearly 10 years since my last build! I built out our unfinished upstairs/attic and have been using a pair of T39's (from my signature) as makeshift home theater subs. They sound great, but they're obviously not designed for HT use and drop off below 35hz pretty quickly...

Re: First BFM Build Odyssey: Tuba 60
Looks like a good start! It's ok for the side panels to be a bit oversize if you have a flush trim bit, but it's a good idea to make sure your first panel that you draw the layout lines on is as close to perfect as possible or at least be aware of the discrepancy so you can compensate when drawing t...

Re: I'm back after years off, How have you all been?
I recognize your name and profile pic! It's been 10 years since my last build and I've been toying with building a few THTLP's with the plans I bought years ago and got sidetracked. Speaking of your scale models, I 3D printed a working 9" tall T48 years ago. It was all midrange with the small s...

Re: T18 in a truck cab
Kind of late to the party here, but years ago I squeezed a T18 in the trunk of my Subaru Legacy (sedan) for the fun of it. It DEFINITELY needed EQ to sound good and I vaguely recall it being very boomy in the upper bass frequencies (60-100hz). It could probably be good with tuning, but it was simila...

Re: THT with other subs
I did it in the past with a Table Tuba and a T18. However, I had to use a measurement mic and lots of trial and error on my DSP to get it right because you can actually have less bass if it's wrong. A lot of the work was finding the right delay since the two subs had different horn lengths, but once...
